I think he's Ferrari bound. I think the deal is done and dusted.

i'm not so sure. kimi is now the undisputed number 1 in the team and i'm sure his say counts for a lot. He would defintely not want FA in the team disrupting his flow and possibly the whole team as he tries to get his way of working implemented

FA needs to goto a team where the management will support him being the number one driver.

and that place is not at ferrari in the near future. his only sensible options are now Renault and RBR what he should do is now sign a contract, end the speculation and get ready to rebuild his carrer and reputation

Spot on again demure & 8B. Would one of you like to take on Max's job and the other Bernies? Which one for which?

LoL, keeping manufacturers, sponsors, drivers, teams, fans, suppliers, race circuits and others happy all at once when each of those groups are pulling in their own direction?

I wouldn't want the job for any amount of money or respect...

You can have it though...

You only have to learn to ignore the ones you dont like, and go your own way - you know, like Max does, well and Bernie for that matter. Max only likes Ferrari so there it is - simple! Perhaps I will do it - what is Max's 'phone number? I'll tell him to go forth and multiply.

Yeah but both Ferrari drivers are contracted for 2009. And if Kimi wins 2008, I really don't see Ferrari replacing Massa with FA. Having one champ material and other solid (but not THAT good) driver is winning combo, McLaren is living proof you don't want both drivers as good. After all, Ferrari did their best with non-equal drivers, and FA for sure would not play support to Kimi.

What is situation with BMW contracts, anyway..?

I'm not saying he will go to Ferrari given the rumours and whispers that have been on the go, it seems as though Alonso has made some enquiries about Ferrari.
If he's smart (or has smart advisors), he'll eye BMW-Sauber in 2009. Not that I'd want him there...

Agreed. The team look to be moving forward and Thiessen is a big fan of Alonso's and has made no bones about it. With their drivers not contracted for 2009 I'm sure Thiessen will be seeking his services.

He also said Kimi Raikkonen, the newly crowned world champion, will not enjoy number one status next year over team-mate Felipe Massa.

"The track will determine the hierarchy," Baldisserri claimed. "The same as in the days of Schumacher.

Barrichello for example ended 2003 very strongly and began 2004 full of chances, but Michael won the first five races."

....but the wicked side of me  would like to see him alongside Kimi. He would go ballistic everytime Kimi beat him, Kimi wouldnt give a fig what his team mate was doing

Same for me. Let Ferrari deal with the little twonk. He will be a very de-stablising force in any team he goes to if he can't be number one. That's perhaps why the offers aren't coming thick and fast for him. I think he's really queered his pitch by his actions this year.

That is not necessarily true. I think he was expecting No.1 role simply because LH is rookie and young, so FA was not ready to deal with harsh reality that LH is fast as, has big mouth and is favoured by RD (my point of view, at least).

With Ferrari, he would know/be told that equality is best he can get; after all, he'd be 2 years old champ while Kimi would be more recent (or even actual) one, so if he'd accept that, he'd find a way to live with it. It is for sure we would see more drama from him than from Kimi - goes with temperament - but I'd bet he would not repeat McLaren's story in Ferrari.

I would say that's pretty much how it went down...
