I won't lock this thread for you two, if you've got discussing, do it between yourselves via PM. Perpetuating argumentative behavior here in the thread is against the forum guidelines. Do I need to remind you guys the outcome of your last spat with each other?

I know this is getting off topic and I probably shouldn't reply to continue that trend but I might as well take a shot at clearing this little bit up.

I said given they were cutting the funding from grand prix tracks to teaching and health and that IT WAS A GOOD IDEA, THAT THEY HAD THEIR PRIORITIES ON ORDER, basically a pat on the back to the Texan government.
I agree with you, however the money can't be given to the teachers. This is just politicians playing politics. The money can not be used for anything other than these sorts of events. The person behind that silly move the other day in the senate side of the bill is someone who hates Austin and is using this to deceive his voters. Like I said the money can not be moved from this fund to pay for teachers jobs. Also if you take a look at where the money from this fund has been spent, $3 million in Austin while over $45 million in San Antonio and much more than that in DFW and Houston.

There are 4 types of funds in this fund and one is dedicated solely to motor sports, it would be crazy to not include the F1 GP as a "motor sport." Many 10's of millions were spent last year, this year will be the same, as will next year and none of that money will ever go to teachers regardless of silly political moves to trick voters. There are some that just don't want it going to Austin, and if they can make a move like this and tell their voters back in Houston that they tried to do something to cute the budget and save teachers jobs (even though it can not save any teachers jobs) then it is a smart political move. In the House side of the bill they actually expanded this fund. When the two come together the F1 money will be there. Even if some how it isn't I don't think it will make much of a difference. The track and race will still go on.

As someone not front Texas, (although I've visited a number of times) I describe Austin as the San Francisco of Texas. I wonder what the garden variety Texas state senator or congressman's view is and if that's got something to do with the funding resistance.

A warning has been issued to both texasmr2 and FRAFPDD for their conduct in this thread. A post by texasmr2 after my general warning on the thread to stop the argumentative behavior has been deleted.

Great modding :banghead: !!! I used to be accused of being overbearing as a mod now look at how things are handled  !!

Anywho carry on hollier than thou's, hope your happy with yourselves. I'll ban myself because it is apparent that nobody here can have a mature discussion without a nanny.

Tex, you're digging yourself a deeper hole. It is your 3rd warning and as such will require a ban. The standard is two weeks, but your action leading to the warning and now your continuing behavior in this post can be taken into consideration in extending that two week period of time. It's your choice. Please refrain from posting any more until a decision is made regarding your status.
