I don't like the name. Since they have F1 tracks in Canada, Brazil, etc.. why such a broad Circuit of the Americas? I understand you have North America and South America.. but the name itself, as an American, connotates to me, Circuit of several United States.. like we have blue United States, red United States, etc.. and one race track serving them all, thus Circuit of the different Americas. It just comes off wierd.
A better name would of been Circuit of the United States, Circuit of North America, or as it is in Texas, Circuito de Estados Unidos.

I don't like it either; as it's in Texas; why not call it the George W Bush circuit or something after a local famous person; it's certainly not the Circuit of the Americas, as Canada and Brazil also have a grand prix; same as the baseball world series is not at all a world series!

...Austin International Circuit would be much less confusing.

I mean, there are tonnes of race tracks in the Americas. Already. What makes this one special? I mean, I like the name. It's just...The wrong one. If you see what I mean

That's worse than circuit of the Americas.

Actually I don't mind the name too much if they actually held event for various race series in the Americas, and it is "centrally" located.

Just watched the SPEED TV announcement, and thats what Tavo Hellmund said.. That it was centrally located and that it wanted to be inclusive of South America and Mexico.

They also signed a 10yr contract with Moto GP starting in 2013 I believe.

They are employing 1300 people and spending 400 Million.. I wish I could get in on some of that action and move to Austin..

 I just spoke to my wife over this weekend that I'd consider moving to Austin and getting employed there!
