EDITED by me.

Lost interest in the "House Wives" implication, anyone else care to have a mature discussion other than "I hate the name" :bs: ??

Anyone over 40 ??

I know a sizeable amount of people who are more mature than many 40 year olds. I refuse to be one of them!!!!!!!!!!! :censored: texas and the name of the circuit!! I'm still gonna do everything I can to get to the first GP in 2012 though :hehe::twisted:

If you're lucky, one day you'll get to an age where you'll wish you were in your 40's again.

I dont know, maybe its not a stupid name but I think people expected a bit more creativity?

If Malaysia named its track "Track of the Asians" I'd roll my eyes a bit at that too man.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:
"Circuit of the Arabs"?

Good suggestion for Bahrain or Abu Dhabi circuit. You do know Malaysia isn't part of the Middle East continent?

Personally as a Texan I would have preferred something much more Texan. But I don't think that is really what they are going for. One of the key, if not the biggest, reasons they chose Austin as the sight is they want to have a huge draw from Central and South America while still honoring the wishes of the F1 big money sponsors and having a race in the US to better access the US market for those sponsor. So while it is not the "Texan" name I was hoping for, I do understand the name and it makes perfect sense for what they are trying to build here and the fact that Texas really only makes up a smaller part of the fan base they are trying to draw. It could have been much worse and in time I am sure I will grow to love it.

Finance blow for Austin development

Austin, Texas The venue for the 2012 US Grand Prix at Austin was dealt a potential blow after the Texas State Senate's finance committee voted 10-4 to pull a $25 million package to assist the development of the under-construction Circuit of the Americas, local KXAN news reported.

"At a time when people are stressed about their schools, stressed about their jobs, stressed about health care and nursing homes, for us to check off $25 million for race cars, I think we make people say where are their priorities," senator Dan Patrick told the station. "That $25 million would pay for 500 teacher salaries. How can we explain to people we're spending that money on race cars?"

But the amendment is only to the senate version of the forthcoming state budget, not the version in the House of Representatives. The report concluded it was likely "most if not all of the incentives" would ultimately be restored.

What's in a name? We've heard why they named it what they name it, we can also go into the F1 website and have a difficult time finding the actual track name of a given circuit because all you'd see in big bold letters is; 2011 FORMULA 1 PETRONAS MALAYSIA GRAND PRIX not the actual track name of; Sepang International Circuit.

So what you have is the fans calling the circuit by one name, either the country or the one word in the name that sticks our or the city it's located in. No one ever calls a circuit by the full proper name.

As it's already been stated, I'm just glad that we'll be getting a race in the US, am I ecstatic as to the location? No. Would it have made more sense to pick a more historic site, or an already somewhat capable existing venue and bring that up to F1 standard? Yes. In the end what's important to me is that we're getting the sport back into the US market. A positive first step and one which could lead to more sponsorship interest and ultimately renew the interest in a US based team. Two things considerably more important than its name.

Im being serious, deadly serious now, infact i genuinely cannot stress the severity of what im saying: are you a mentally challenged?
Friedrich Nietscze would have trouble reading your psychologically.

I said given they were cutting the funding from grand prix tracks to teaching and health and that IT WAS A GOOD IDEA, THAT THEY HAD THEIR PRIORITIES ON ORDER, basically a pat on the back to the Texan government.

Then i made a joke about 25 million dollars being the total salary for 500 teachers so i said get me a teaching job in the USA.

I can only assume youve somehow read something wrong, because if you understood what i said and still replied like you did, then there is something f***ing wrong with you.

So much for your 'Apology' thread as it is now deemed a load of :bs: and shows you are a liar  !

Instead of clouding this thread with your negativity or dismay with my opinion/reply PM a mod ok?!?! :whip:

No tex just no, dont dare get out of it by using my thread as a scapegoat.

Why did you have a go at me for absolutely nothing, i said what the texan government was doing was a GOOD thing cause teaching jobs are more important in F1, This: " let alone in texas" was meant purely cause creating a track in england is hard enough with loads of support when the money can be spent on teaching, let alone in texas where its not a big sport.

Then i made a joke about how much the teachers get paid saying get me a teaching job in the us.

Why did you have a go at me? Why?

EDIT: and for your information im pretty proud of my changed attitude since my thread, and no matter how many the fanboys on here hate me for it, cause they could never muster the balls to do it themselves, im proud of making that thread, trying to use it against me is a dead loss.
