Interesting question. Firstly this forum in particular is one of the first results that comes up searching "F1 forum"

Surely given the modernisation of drivers today, and the fact that despite their fame, are human. They must hae searched these forums from time to time, maybe even a member! Just to see whats being talked about them and stuff. Surely some have to do it.

A few things from Hamilton that made me think so, first on twitter he acknowledges he has "haters" now given how much dissing he gets in F1 forums and the terminolgy used thats intriguing, its the most common terminology for internet criticism, dont really hear that in "real life" circles do you? Its a very internet term.

Also, theres talk on forums all the time about how drivers "have no balls" Hamilton in the last two/three seasons has pretty blatantly said things like " no no the weathers fine (korea) or in his most recent interview " im a racer and people want to see racing, they want to see overtaking....... but i appreciate all the support hes had"

These two comments dont do it justice, and we know the drivers are computer-literate.

Thoughts?

Think Hamilton was talking about people who contacted him through twitter, kinda suggests computer illiteracy, since it seemed he wasn't used to how angry people are on the internet.

Though, if I was a driver, I'd sure be tempted to see what people were saying. But I guess they get contacted all the time by fans so they don't really spend time searching?

I wouldn't think so. He could easily have been referring to professional press, blogs, or tweets.

I dont just mean Hamilton, i mean drivers. Celebrities are always saying theyve googled themselves?

Why not F1 drivers seeing whats going on with themseles? I know i would.

Well, I come here to learn and discuss. If I were an F1 driver, I wouldn't need a web forum for either of those things.

The question then becomes how much do they care about random people's opinions... I'd wager not very much.

We are not random people, we are the fans, we are the people that pay their wages, and the people that give them crowds to cheer to at races.

I must say though coming here to learn and discuss is a bad idea, most people are looking to dictate and argue

Not extensively.

 dont know what that means lol?

You mean in detail right? Or throughly?

No but thats not what im asking, im not saying does Hamilton, or do all drivers have an acount, Im asking if people reckon if some keep an eye or have glanced at these forums, its more then likely.

"To a great extent." As in, not regularly or in particular detail.

Mr Hamilton,

If you are reading this, is it possible for you to walk past a reporter without stopping to give them some random quote? Seriously, get over the fame already and drive the freakin car.

Sincerely,
A Racing Fan

PS. Nice scrap with Alonso last week. Remember back in the day when you ran him over from behind and accused him of lifting? This one sure looked like payback to me. I laughed...Alonso cried....you finished behind him anyway and a good time was had by all. Better luck next time...provided you don't spot a trackside reporter during the race and pull over to discuss yourself.

No, there is a special clause in there contracts, JK

I imagine they are much to busy to be browsing the internet. Maybe HRT uses our ideas

A racing driver's opinion on anything F1 related >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> a fan's opinion of anything F1 related. Another 'shut up and drive, keep your opinions to yourself while i spout my worthless and idiotic opinions on internet forums' view of things. I'm almost certain Hamilton isn't nearly as interested in the press as they are in him...after all it's their job to get him to talk, he gets asked to comment and he does, i'd rather know more about the drivers than have another Raikkonen; dull as dishwater.
