A poor man's Road America. Not just in name either...

What are you rolling your eyes at now?

Your comment, I thought that was quite obvious :wink: ? In what fashion should I or others who are behind this project 110% take your comment that it is just "a poor man's Road America and not just in name either"? Thats just taking a piss on the project and you know it. Anyone who loves F1 should be excited about this project and Road America is an awesome track so maybe your comment in all reality was a compliment?

I would be sorry but opinions are allowed here, if you don't like that it's your own problem.

Oh my thats new new's too me :yikes: !! On that note I'm free to express my dismay and/or dislike of said opinions so no need to get all defensive. You don't like the track, the name or the idea of a US GP thats your perogative yet as I mentioned I'm free to express myself aswell.

In all reality a tracks name is just poppycock and means nothing in reality as the racing a track allow's is the most important aspect. Also they are still just moving dirt and many have concern's if they will meet their deadline or be postpone until 2013. F1 need's a new track and especially in the US so let's hope for the best while keeping our reservations.

I like the location as it's only about 6 - 8hrs drive from where I live; I don't much like the name given the proximity to Brazil and Canada and I feel it's a little on the pompous side but my biggest worry is that it will be another dull Tilkedrome. It will be about the racing and I hope it's going to be good racing as I hope to be in Austin for the inaugural Austin GP!

Yet I still have a issue, why do some people still consider the tracks name as pompous while in all reality it is meant to be a united name?

I have the same issue with the European GP; it's no more a European GP than any other GP in Europe; it's an excuse for one country to have two Grand Prix' I consider the Austin track name to be pompous because it appears to claim that it's the only GP track in the Americas, which of course is my perception/opinion and neither right nor wrong! Personally I would have rather have went to one of the many great racing tracks in the US and spend the money increasing capacity, creating better facilities instead of a whole new circuit for a new GP!

as silly as the name is, if it gets us two GPs, it's fine with me.

Maybe we could go back to Phoenix? but I don't see a second GP in the US; there isn't a big enough demand for it here in the US; every one talks about NASCAR here in Kansas but look at me blankly when I mention Formula 1, although a New York Grand Prix sounds appealing!
