Todt is certainly a smug hypocrite with the amount of times he has called on the FIA for a result. However I think Dennis knew perfectly well he would not win this appeal, he did not appeal to win, he appealed (as someone else on this forum pointed out)to make all the more obvious how unfair, corrupt and biased the political settlements are.

Ferrari set the wheels in motion with their behaviour this season, so I cannot blame McLaren for adopting such an approach. I ask, if the positions were reversed would have Ferrari mounted a "desperate" legal bid?

Without question they would have. So that's the 2007 farce over now, lets get on with 2008. Hopefully the champions will be decided on the track.

I respect people's views when they're based on facts and logic.

FIA: Ferrari International Association
Ayrton Senna: Four Time Drivers Champion: 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991
McLaren: Ten Time Constructor's Champions: 1974, 1984, 1985, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1998, 1999, 2007

Uh, aren't these two statements kinda contradictory, just a wee bit, just a tad?

No. Minus political meddling in 1989 Senna would have been champion. Minus political meddling in 1999 McLaren would have been champions. Minus political meddling in 2007 McLaren would have been champions.

Ferrari is special because they have been around for so long and do everything themselves.

I should have mentioned that because no other team has ever kept this tradition alive for so long.

True and not so true. They have FIAT's backing. And, yes, I know, McLaren are only largely by Mercedes but that's beside the point.

It still does not give Ferrari the right do behave the way they do and for the FIA to treat them differently from the other teams.

I see nobody is still prepared to remark about Todt, Ferrari and the tifosi's hypocrisy.

FIAT give them the cash they need to compete with car giants like BMW/Mercedes however they still make almost everything at their own factory in Marinello.

It does give them the right to be treated differently.

Take an employee in a company who's been there since day 1, he will get preferential treatment over newcomers, within reason, on certain political issues.

The pitlane is very different to a standard business but you see the point I'm trying to get accross.

soo the longer a Football club which ever code we are talking should get better treatment from umpires or refs because of their history?
thats a bullpoo arguement and whats the point of the others competing if one team gets better treatment! just goes to show when they do win it takes double the effort and a much harder earned win than Ferrari ever did then huh :roll:

It's the truth. Ferrari can get a little help from their friends. However, the other teams have to compete not just against Ferrari and the other team, but against the FIA.

Look at the 1999 constructors' title battle. Was it in 2004 all of the Michelin tyres, despite being the same size etc. as the year before, were deemed illegal. Then we had the laughable penalty Alonso was given in the 2006 Italian Grand Prix and, then, also in that season, the mass damper saga, and , just last season, the spy scandal and all it entailed. Indeed, there are others which haven't been mentioned.

Nah, that's not a fact either, just supposition, and it actually fits McLaren better than Ferrari...

It's not supposition for I've proven it and will show you the workings of it now:

Ferrari have sought to win the title off the track, most recently in 2007. Todt says this is justified and pursues it regardless of the consequences for the sport, which Todt also he wasn't worried about. Then, McLaren, let's say for the sake argument, definitely do decide to appeal the result of the 2007 Brazilian Grand Prix as a bid for the title. To Ferrari this is 'desperate' and unfair (insert other synonyms).

Now, when a scientist, for example, thinks he has discovered something it is a theory. When it is proven it becomes fact. Likewise, I have proven that Ferrari has fulfilled the criteria for being hypocrites.

Nah, you've proven nothing. You've just proven that you're upset over your own team being cheats and bringing the sport into disrepute twice in one season.
