i think that 14 to 15 and 15 and 1 would be ideal because you have two chances to overtake....

15-1 would be better. Cars normally use 15-1 to catch up to set up the overtaking on the main straight (1-2)

DRS would allow for the final corner (hairpin) to be a very easy overtaking corner as well. I remember 3 cars abreast in one year heading to this corner...DC, Heidfeld and someone else..can't remember. Awesome.

The impact of DRS in Australia didn't seem that great and I hope they allow teams to use it wherever on the track drivers want to. Then it will comes down to the drivers skill in making use of this tool and if they get it wrong like Sutil almost did, they pay the price.

Just a thought...

I agree.

it gets too dangerous if they apply this rule. i mean, barrichello started whining when Lewis did the weaving at sepang last year ;D.
this would be out of the world for him

Barichello needs to hang up his helmet for good. He is committing a SIN by stopping such a fine young talent like Hulkenberg waste his life as a test driver. :D

A question: Is it official that every track has only one place where you can use DRS?

Imo it would be a good idea to have more IF possible. Tracks like Monza, Sepang, SPA maybe? could have more, which would make it more interesting

I agree, though my understanding is the rule at present is that there can be just one zone, but then it is subject to change

Im thinking between turn 14 and 15 rather than 15 to 1

Yep, I'm thinking that too.

Am I the only one who hates this thing? I mean c'mon. You get a movable wing, but you can only use it on a predetermined section of the track and you can only use it when you are within a second of the car in front of you. It all just seems so contrived.
I'm not much of a fan of KERS either but at least they can use that whenever and wherever they want (till they run out of juice).

Far from it. Several of us have been expressing our distaste at the idea since we first heard about it.

It's a waste of time forcing DRS zones (figuring out where the zone lies on each track, putting down markers, setting up the tech to monitor, etc) and ensuring cars follow the regulations on usage. Far better and cheaper to allow drivers to use it at will. Maybe they want to see teams break the 1 sec rule/regs and collect fines!
