Where would you enable DRS at Sepang?

I'm guessing that DRS will be used on one of the long straights but I'd like to see it available soon after turn two, at the start of the sweeping right-hander leading to a medium length straight followed by a sharp right turn.

That would be dangerous wouldn't it? DRS might lead to oversteer at the long right hander...not likely, but a better (safer) place would be on the main straight right after the last corner. Most probably since it is facing the main grandstands and the first corner audience gets to see a lot of overtaking manouvres. Why not make the best overtaking spot more pronounced?

I have a feeling Malaysia is going to be pretty spectacular. Don't forget how Lewis and Petrov were trading places every lap last year...now with DRS its going to be pretty tough to shake off the guy behind!

Crossed my mind, but I was considering grip coming more into the equation rather than just grunt and straight line speed. Provided no-one opened the flap halfway round the corner (which would almost certainly flip the car off the road) they could back off if the rear end started to go. Plus the two long straights already give good overtaking opportunities as you said.

It depends how they see the safety part of it. Though putting a bit more thought into it I'd say it would be a great place to have it, as the next corner is quite a tricky one - drivers frequently outbrake themselves there. Will add to the spectacle so I can't knock it.

Sepang has 3 maybe 4 good DRS zones around the track, why not have more than one DRS zone. Anyway the best option would be going towards the last corner as some of you guys have already said.

Im thinking between turn 14 and 15 rather than 15 to 1

Anyone know how long (in time) it takes to get down the straight from 14 to 15 and 15 to 1? I want to know if the counter-attack with KERS (6 seconds I think) is shorter; I imagine it is.

And how long is it gonna be before that wing sticks open on someone's car? Just a matter of time, I assume.

Im sure the teams are smart enough to design it with a fail-safe. If the DRS fails it will return to the closed position.

Schumacher explained it, it is manufactured so that will always return to it's standard position, due to the downforce.

Both would be better but 15 to 1 is the best option as the driver will be closer after the long straight from 14 to 15.

15 to 1 also looks longer.

14-15, because then the driver can catch up, and between 15-1 he can challenge the other one ;D

I think that in the past there have been more attacks on 14-15, but, it is obvious where KERS and DRS will be used, mainly on these two straights.
