I can't see why they'd throw the result out, it was clearly damaged, you could see it hanging out grinding on the ground lap after lap

Vettel and Buemi both Maintained or Gained an Advantage by Exceeding the Track Limits - without penalty.

Yes they did.I think the rule is too restrictive. why not just let the cars go anywhere...I mean a wider track. But thats a whole other discussion.

D'you think Di Resta was 'team ruled'?

The issue isn't the broken floor. The ballast is kept within the intact floor, the commentators were saying Lewis could be under investigation as the car might have lost some ballast and come back into parc ferme underweight.

There is a leeway for cars which sustained damage but it depends how much ballast the car might have lost.

He confirms he yielded to Adrian twice.

Slightly annoyed Button was given a DT but Vettel (Less so because he only maintained an advantage) and Buemi (Especially) got away with exceeding track limits. But that's racing.

Yes they both had four wheels off the track at any one time. I really have no problem with it unless they penalize Lewis but let's face it Button should of held off Vettel better than he did.

The same goes for the way Button could not pass Massa so he started his usual moaning and resorted to getting himself a drive through because Massa had the driving line.

Renault - please consider giving Bruno Senna the seat over Heidfeld if Kubica is not ready for the next race. Would be much more entertaining to see Senna who has more to gain from the experience than Heidfeld. Thanks =)

It wasn't about ballast, if they lose parts they can replace them to meet the weight requirement. The possible issue is the wear on the floor. It shouldn't be an issue though as it's not due to the cars ride height that caused the wear but a damaged part.

And at that point everyone knows to stop reading because you've just admitted the point you're about to express is not worth anybody's time.

Thats what I thought. Lewis seemed to be a bit unsure when he was intervewed on the red button about what was going to happen.

What?? I'm saying that the car might have lost ballast and was running 'illegally' aka underweight. This is an issue which the stewards would take seriously, remember how the drivers are supposed to 'pick up' rubber right after crossing the finish line as they might be underweight by 0.5kg or so. Losing ballast isn't a case of decimal points.

isnt Bud saying that if ballast is lost through an accident ie bits falling off the car, then they are allowed to replace the lost bits

I don't understand..how do you replace the bits when the car is in a race? The issue which I see here is Lewis driving an underweight car as a result of ballast being lost. A car has to be racing as per minimum weight, and I fear the broken floor might have caused the car to cross the minimum weight line.

I dont know the rule, but i thought Bud was saying you're allowed to add the weight at the end of bits that have fallen off. at the end not during the race.

I thought it was F1 I was watching  ? If the undertray ie plank is not within the minimum thickness allowed after a race that is no no. Since it seemed to be at the front maybe that is what saved him from a disqualification? He drove a great race though so not hounding.
