This is the conundrum when in comes to Lewis, yes he's achieved a lot for someone in his first season, and smashed all the rookie records, but name me one other rookie that has had his first season in a front running car?
Then again, he owned a 2 time world champion. The flipside to that coin is politics clouded the issue.
Its a tough one.
What we do know however, he has performed well above expectations and thoroughly deserves to hold onto his drive, I think people are waiting to see some consistency before they start getting too excited over him...
Besides, having a fast British driver is extremely important for Formula One, with so much of the support industry in Britain and Silverstone needing a long overdue revamp it's important for F1 to have a high profile in the UK.
Yes, Hamilton is good but as usual British people - the English in particular - get all excited about their sports 'stars' and bum up their chances of winning.
How? Because we put too much pressure on them?
Because... you make him think he's better than he really is..?
In short, you spoil him, and spoiled kids are usually not the best achievers.
but to realistic he has achieved alot already though dude!
