Drag increases with the square of the velocity. 110 is 8.3% slower than 120, therefore drag would decrease 16.7%.

KM/H is about half of what MPH is so no need to feel all Speed Racer.
1mph is 0.62km/h, so it's more like 3/5th the speedbut of course that exponential; 60mph is 96km/h, so there is big difference.
Alonso wouldn't like it here in the US then as half the time the speed limits on highways is 60 - 65mph...
1mph is 1.61km/h but yes, 60mph=96km/h though linear not exponential, that would be really wierd.

My bad; it seems that my understanding of exponential expression is incorrect; that'll teach me to skip mathematics classes.
I was trying to express that it may not seem like a big difference between 1mph and 1km/h, but when multiplied by 60; the difference is significant!

Move to North Dakota... no speed limits on 3/4 of the state roads! LOL
Sounds good to me! Don't some highways in America have a limit of 50 mph?

It varies wildly from state to state and city to city.
I live in council bluffs ia, but drive to work in omaha ne. I 80 has a speed limit of 60 MPH. but if you start to head towards lincoln it goes to 75. However going into iowa it drops to 55, then as you leave council bluffs to go say south towards missouri it goes to 60 -> 65 -> and then once it gets to missouri it goes to 75, and even up to 80 on parts of I70.
I don't really care that much, police forces are so under staffed anyway, so unless they go to speed cameras (which I would promise they would get vandalized to all oblivion) people don't really follow the limits. They don't go crazy over them like 65 limit people might go 75 but nothing like going 110 + on a 60 or some crap.
Over all, I wish they would just make the lanes have limits. The outer lane in America should be a standard of 75 + on normal interstates.
I miss the UK speed limits; you know where you stand; highways/motorways @ 70mph unless otherwise indicated (usually for roadworks etc); built up areas in the city/town @ 30mph.

Wait, the article says the reasoning is to reduce fuel consumption, does the government buy all fuel collectively in Spain and distribute it to people, or do people buy it privately? Because I don't see why this is a method to reduce fuel consumption, supply and demand will control the prices, subsidise alternative means of transport to encourage people to use them, or is emissions the problem?
