Why wouldn't they allow teams to test both cars on track simultaneously? It would allow them to gather twice as much data and test twice the amount of configurations, plug get both drivers additional acclimation time with the cars?! if they're got the whole team and engineers and equipment there already, how does this restriction result in any money savings for the team?

? Fuel?, manpower? more chance of binning a car, which in turn costs to replace?

Actualyl surely they develop one car and test it then make the other, wouldnt it be more expensive to develop two cars at once.

Who knows... Maybe they want them to create as least as possible security risks on track... Or something else...

yeah but unlike Q, not every car is on track, a lot of the time is actually spent in the garage pulling data and changing set up... also the cars aren't all going at 100% effort. I know discussing it here won't change a thing, but it seems like another colossus waste of time.

I'm pretty sure last test Force India Bought both cars (2010 models)

so i think its a case of they are allowed to, but chose not to.

I'm pretty sure last test Force India Bought both cars (2010 models)

so i think its a case of they are allowed to, but chose not to.


Yes, they can do both cars, but run one driver in AM and one driver in PM, just not sure if both cars are on track simultaneously.

I agree, why don't we let them run both cars? Even if they only develop one car, the teams would have a clear point of comparison.

Maybe because they dont have 2 drivers in the same team who are clones?

Two different styles, 2 different cars....maybe the data can prove to be misleading so why run 2 cars. 1 barometer means 1 less variable.

They won't be forced to if they don't want to, anyway, the data would still be useful.

WTF! mclaren seem to be testing an exhaust system yoday where the pipe goes up at the back and blows onto the rear wing! by far the most innovative car design yet, please say its amazing :thumbup:

Paying close attention to the FW33... the rear is quite a feat. They've completely lowered and reworked everything back there :yikes: Suspension transmission.

I hope this is a good step for them, I'd love to see them in the mix!
