Bill I never got that feeling from them in the first place, it's not their motto unlike Ferrari's. Don't get me wrong anyone I luv Porsche yet I have never gotten that gut feeling that they live to race
.
I just don't believe they are that company anymore. They moved away from it. The focus is no longer on being a racing car manufacturer that sells street cars to fund their racing or get a car homologated.. Don't get me wrong, I race one but they are not the company they once were. Stand in the pitlane of Sebring and look up to see all of those years where Porsche won the 12 hour....those days are over. Perhaps they can be brought back...but F1 is not the place to do so in my opinion. Porsche gained their fame through rally and road racing.....sportscars. LeMans was their crown jewel.....and could be again but F1 is in my opinion outside of their grasp. Sure, they could be an engine manufacturer far cheaper than fielding a car...but I would rather see a factory LeMans effort like the good old days.
