Actually bullets and wounds kill people

Nah, a bullet is harmless when lying around in the drawer by itself. Only once a PERSON picks it up, puts it in a gun and fires the gun at another person and hits that person in a certain way, THEN the bullet kills. So, the PERSON ultimately kills.

There was something incredibly wrong with the young man who did this,

People can blame guns but the problem is that this person was so upset he felt like he had to kill a government official and who ever else was there.

That is a mental issue not something that stores can stop selling.

As a gun owner i could see this ending alot worse when 20 armed civilians pull out guns also.

My thoughts are for all those effected

Yeah, but it's quite a bit easier to hurt someone with a firing gun than hitting someone with a gun.

As in...I'm a person who is really mad and want to kill people, should I use my gun to pistol whip them or shoot them down??? Hmmm!

Not sure where this angle is coming from...
The 'but' indicates you disagree, however, what follows doesn't really contradict my statement

I was involved in a robbery when I was a teen. I worked in a liquor store that was held up, one of the men walked up to me and put a gun in the back of my neck and I couldn't begin to express the cocktail of emotions that goes through you head at that moment. Had he not had a gun, I would have likely been the one accused of killing him.

The 3 guys were eventually caught after their 3rd liquor store robbery in the neighborhood.

Guns kill people.

So do pen's, knives, bricks etc etc thats why almost any instrument can be considered a deadly weapon. Your not looking at it in the correct perspective, just my opinion, and thats surprising coming from you since you were once married to a police office. People kill people it's just that a gun is an easy scapegoat for most, I realize though that non-law enforcement individuals may have a different outlook than us. :)

6 people dead in arizona shooting, columbine high school,
virginia tech, washington sniper, 30,000 americans killed by guns a year , think of these and think of
how powerful and deadly a gun is, and you still believe it is a good idea for civilians to "practice their god given right" uh uh, cannot concede agreement on this one,
the amount of controversy that even surroinds gun control speaks volumes.

suprising
how adamently our american forumnera have thus far defended guns given theoir experiences, but then i guess some limey attacking something like the constitution is bound to rile some national pride!

I don't defend gun ownership whatsoever. Just wanted to correct certain statements that seem illogical or untrue.

Dude I'm a police officer so I don't think I need to be preached to about the forever changing consequences of using a gun  . Aswell 99% of the negative views against our 2nd Ammendment right are from non-US citizens on this forum., so frankly you opinion does not matter to me.

Thats a rather ignorant and self imposed illusion of grandeur don't you think and frankly it's abit racist imho. You don't live here so do not try and judge us ok, I would appreciate atleast that amount of respect from you.

I have said my peace so I'll not continue with this discussion :wavey: .

its a shame that you let your personal feelings on the matter cloud an interesting debate.

and considering im educated, up to date and interested in world affairs, lived in 3 different states in the us over the course of 18 months, share a common language with america, am surrounded by american views etc thrpugh media and have half my immediate family living there( and have done for20 years orpre) id say ignorant is the last thing my view is , if anything elsr ESPECIALLY as im not subject to self preservation, national pride and biased influence.

And racist?... please. the last part was referring to you saying your aunt/cousin etc was robbed at gunpointh, and whats burnings had a gun to hos head, thats what i meant.
