Well you and I would love to see that but unfortunately that will not be the case, I think. You would know what I mean if you had seen the turbo era before it was shackled and chained. I like your gungho 'crank the boost up' attitude though as I could never get enough boost with my cars.
Alittle snippet for you and if you pay close attention you will see two things. First one is how much low-end torque the turbo's have and how quickly the boost and max HP/torque takes place. With our current engine regs the engines only produce max HP aswell a torque at maximum rpm's whilst the turbo's could/can produce the same at lower rpm's thus leading to quicker acceleration and exit speed's. The difference may not be great but it is still very significant. Also they still sounds badass to me, hp always does if you know what your listening too

You're right, of course they will put a limit on it. And this is what gets to me. A boost limit comes off (at least to me) as just being arbitrary and perhaps innovation stifling. I'd rather see something like "OK, as much boost as you want as long as the engine can last through two race weekends." If you grenade during practice, for instance, then you know you need to dial it down. But if it lasts, then the advantage goes to your team. Hopefully superior engineering wins out.
