I always hear that Lewis was Ron's Favorite.
Every coach has a favorite player, every teacher a favorite student, even a parent has a favorite kid.

So do not :nono::nono: confuse being ''favorite'' with being BLATANTLY #1 driver, move out my way, relinquish 1st place,it's all about me or nothing!

I have heard about a million excuses on FA behalf!:thumbdown::thumbdown:

I’m not talking about excuses. Alonso probably lost more than anyone else by leaving McLaren. He doesn’t need excuses. Wrong or right, he did what he thought he had to do and not for his own profit considerations. You should, at least, admit that’s something unusual nowadays.

Jack there was an FIA appointented observer (a joke in itself) to see if there was any favoritism. And guess what he found.... Nothing!

The whole bad blood between fernando and McLaren was the fact Fernando wasn't being favored when in his eyes he should be.

But I agree with DD what was the point of starting a thread about a 3 year old topic? I know it's still high on the agenda in Spain but the rest of us have moved on!

I might start s topic about 88 Prost vs Senna

About the FIA observer. You have described it perfectly.
The bad blood between Alonso and McLaren wasn’t something from day to night; I’ve tried to explain the moments and circumstances that little by little produced it. It’s not as simple as you believe. I can assure you Alonso doesn’t need protection or anything else to cope with any other driver as you suppose.
And I find it important because I think all the hate I found against Alonso started with that. Three years could give us a little bit of perspective to reconsider things with less passion and more understanding.
You’re wrong if you think that the issue is high on the Agenda in Spain and that the rest of you have moved on. It’s just me who find important a cool review of the whole thing.
I find normal that you agree whit DD. She’s the boss. Isn’t she? Nonetheless I think he hasn’t said anything against this topic.
If you want to start a topic about Senna/Prost, fantastic. It could be interesting for the old fans. But I think the Alonso McLaren affaire is still alive, especially in most of the British opinions about Alonso, that I consider pretty unfair.

And Jack Master has to be a Spaniard, the fact that nation still goes on about the 07 season and their dislike of Lewis shows how deep the hatred is.

ROFL, YOU...just said this. YOU? Wow. Talk about the pot meeting the kettle. Jesus...you fanboys go on and on about Alonso daily...and yet you...just...said...THAT.

Aww really? 2 more points and Lewis would be double WDC going by that theory.

Anyway, what all the people in denial will never be able to answer is my one question: Why would McLaren hire a double WDC and pay him 10 times the salary of their wonder boy Lewis Hamilton, and then favour the rookie!?

If this is the level of common sense these guys have, Ron Dennis would probably never succeed in any business whatsoever, let alone form one of the most successful F1 teams in history. What a joke. The simply fact is Lewis surprised everyone and Alonso wanted 'protection'. Like he always does, wherever he goes. He didn't get it at McLaren, and it was time to throw his toys out of the pram and leave with his tail between his legs. What a disgrace. But I enjoyed it. :hehe:

Just because they didn’t know he could be so fast. Then they favour the rookie. Off course they didn’t know either how weak he could be under pressure. That’s a double mistake from Uncle Ron. What a pity for everybody.
Otherwise I remember perfectly Lewis in 2007 looking all the time at the telemetry when qualifying. He didn’t make the same with Kovalainen or Button.
Alonso wanted protection? Like he always does? Please, be serious. Take a look at what Briatore and Domenicali have said about Alonso and also at what Martin Witsmart have said recently. He leaved McLaren just because he wanted fresh air not a vicious one. What a disgrace for McLaren.
Just remember how won Hamilton his WDC, just because he overtook an almost stopped Glock when Lewis was driving as a chicken walks under a storm.

I dont know how McLaren can be so confident to support a rookie not knowing how he'll handle the pressure come the end of the season. Taking the dream scenario Alonso fans have in mind...it just doesn't make sense to me. It is so easy for it to go wrong, and go wrong it did. They lost it by a point thanks to all the distractions going around with the Ferrari data (again, instigated by the disgraced ex McLaren driver) and a lousy strategy at the end. They employed the same (hold station) strategy the very next year and very nearly lost it a second time!!

I'm being serious. Wherever he goes, Renault he was being comprehensively outperformed by Trulli until a certain stage, (who can forget the famous Monaco crash when he was chasing Trulli and crashed under the pressure) until Trulli had a fight with Braitore over driver management contracts.

McLaren we know the story. Ferrari, you had a great display of his character in Germany at the press conference. He is in full support of team orders, he likes teammates moving over for him. What do you do at these times, close your eyes and scream with your hands on your ears? Come on, wake up.

Your last line is a classic...berating Lewis' manner of winning the WDC, so what if he barely won it, he could have so easily ditched the car on the last lap, 2nd year running and staring a loss of the WDC by 1 point in the face..but he kept it together and brought the car home to win. Credit where its due mate.

I believe that the Ferrari data affaire was instigated for Max “bottom on the air “Mosley, because Ron Dennis didn’t support his decisions and him as FIA president. They became enemies and Mosley managed the things as he usually does. He went to the driver and said to him that he could lose his super license unless he told him all the truth, and guaranteed immunity to the driver if he followed his instructions. He wanted damaging McLaren and he did. Next year Ron took revenge showing some drive through penalties on his bottom to the whole world.
When Mosley wanted revenge to Briatore for instigating the Teams rebellion against the new rules he wanted to implement he did the same with Piquet.
Please, don’t try to compare Trulli with Alonso. I think Monaco was his only victory and possibly because Alonso crashed. But it wasn’t a race for the title, Alonso wasn’t under especial pressure. It was just another race and Alonso outperformed Trulli the whole season.
You really don’t know how Fernando is as a person because you receive the information trough the British journalists who, most of them, hate him. He´s a very close person, isn’t arrogant at all and never acts like a prima donna. But if you go to him asking if he’s a piece of s*** you can be sure you’ll receive the appropriate answer.
About the team orders, please don`t be like that. All the teams are used to them. It’s a very hypocritical issue. Remind Lewis and Kovalainen and that they are many other ways to give team orders, just telling that your engine is overheating or something like this.
About Lewis winning the WDC I believe he didn’t know he had won the title until the team told him. What a control of the race he had!
I know you hate Alonso because you have said it before. Maybe your arguments are a little bit biased for that or maybe not. Who knows?

Jack no offense, but I'm going to ignore your alter reality about Max trying to damage McLaren and Ron Dennis keeping secret tapes in his closet of Max getting his bottom beaten by prostitutes.

But when you talk about Fernando as a person, who are you? Alonsos dad? Cousin? Brother? What?

I don't give a damn about the media, I base my judgement on what I see on TV, his character, and interviews. For me, this is enough. I don't like him but I do give credit to him when he's due, yes he is multiple WDC material even though I wish he wasn't. :hehe:

Maybe Lewis only knew he won after crossing the line. That makes it all the more special. He could have easily lost it as he knew he wasn't running in a winning position and still brought the car to the line. If McLaren had told him that he's in a good position, all he needs to do is bring it home in a stable frame of mind. So you've just made his WDC all the more greater by presenting that bit of fact. Congratulations.

I'm neither British or Spanish,it doesnt take a genius to see FA personality FLAWS.For one he is not a good teammate to have,he has disrupted every team when things didnt go his way.Every team he's been in has been fined or punished involving FA in the matter! yes he is a good driver, but thats not enough! You see the sport we watch and love is not Formula Alonso but F1,and he is ONLY 1 of the 20+ drivers in it!

I rooted for FA in his first 2 wdc titles. Until he went 2 Macca and wanted 2 bully and bury his rookie teammate, for trying to race! His true colors have been showing since then! Sorry,I just call it like I see it,No experts needed!
#228212
You and I did not like what transpired but really how much of the true story do we really know? I think Lewis is a fantastic driver but he aswell has made a few mistakes that could be deemed as character flaws ie he is no better than Alonso imo. Don't hate me because I'm an expert, I need coddling aswell :D .
