Can we leave it there, we know the English and Spanish have differing opinions about Alonso, Hamilton and McLaren (rightly or wrongly) - but can we keep the discussion constructive, and not resort to petty name calling?

It´s ok for me, I know this is childish, sorry :)

While the spainish are here I am gone bye. I will support Lewis on his own website where these <EDITED FOR CONTENT> are not welcome.

This has really gotten out of hand.

Blame the media, not each other...

You can hardly blame the media when the Spanish government are getting involved.

So... what do you DO there? Glorify LH all the time? No opposite opinions?

Er... what is the point of THAT? It sounds almost... religious... like a virtual Shrine kind of thing... I was never able to understand that kind of one-sided opinion sharing/discussing. But hey, good luck and have fun there...

You guy totally missed the point...
The Spanish government is much more concerned with the 11M terrorist attack judgement resolution issue and the release of the airplane crewmembers that were held in Chad.
Which are your reliable sources? Have you any idea of the exact number of British people living or visiting our country? any of them getting bashed on the streets? Union jack flags burnt to the ground in Oviedo´s welcome to FA, the local hero? Nah, no matter what you (OR THE SUN) say, this still IS a civilized country. Behave yourself, man.

Considering all the politics going on both Lewis and Alonso did a bl00dy good job getting to where they were...

It's just the sports minister, I'd hardly call that "the government" getting involved, he/she was probably prompted by a journalist for an opinion rather then making a special point to speak out on the subject.

I'm sure the government gives help and/or endorsement for the spanish race, so it's hard for the government not to have an opinion on Formula One.

Spain is a lovely, civilized and passionate country. We shouldn't attack them because their way is different to the British...
