Yes! Nobody has thought about this.......
Technically, Heidfeld can run new engines without penalties... and yet, he can claim points for the WCC.

There you go Bud. Another example for when the team sacrifice a driver for the benefit of the team

Sauber have been kvetching about their Ferrari engines but that must be one tough lump now in Quick Nick's car. PDR already had put two races on number 9 before Heidfeld took his seat. I wonder where they have his rev limiter set.
...9k and falling?
Alonso will be using his almost-new engine from Bahrain at Abu Dhabi. It was removed for overheating concerns and reportedly is very low mileage.
We've had the discussion in another thread about re-using engines once removed. I can't find chapter and verse in the TR but apparently Alonso was forbidden from reusing this engine until the final race of the season. So if he can survive Brazil without the present engine letting go, he should be golden for the season closer.

Are you sure he will be? Every team hasn't used their Bahrain engine again at any other track. I assume its due to the amount of sand in the air there which is not good for the internals of an engine at all.
