Yeah Massa was pretty slow in japan but didn't think he hit fire extinguishers, pretty sure he hit an F1 car!

Back in Japan are we? Already given up on Korea?
At least you can say the McLaren was hot hot hot today :D

Your confusing me (well more than usual :P ), I thought you said practice today in your other post?

At anyrate could be worse, could be Hekki be slow and hit fire extinguishers.

Actually I was referring to Jenson's car today... Perhaps you missed the McLaren crew with fire extinguishers all over the back of his car, mayby you couldn't see the car for the fumes?

I assumed Jenson's car was on fire in practice.

He did a reasonable lap early in the P2 session, then came into the pits, they were saying it was severely overheating, looked like brakes, the McLaren pit crew was all over the back of the car with fire extinguishers. He was off for most of the rest of the session as they tried to sort out whatever the problem was. That's why he only did 19 laps in that session.

From Jenson's interview after today:-
"I lost a little bit of time in the afternoon session, which was disappointing because I didn't get to run with high fuel. The car just overheated - so I jumped out in the pitlane because it started smoking - and we lost a bit of time tidying it up. Apart from that, it's been a pretty good day."

I watched p1and p 2 on a online stream never saw that happen

P2. It wasnt actually on fire but smoking well! and the extinguishers were out. He lost a fair bit of time before they got him back out. Thats why when everyone else was doing high fuel runs he was still tring to get a quali style lap in. The theory was they were trying running the engine extra lean.
Anyway, back to Massa. What do you think to the comments at the end of P2?
Massa-The car is completely undriveable in sector 3
Smedley- ok
:rofl: That made me laugh. Smedley is my best ever engineer! Love 'im!

After today, I think I'm leaning more to the opnion its a confidence issue, and no ability. Was doing great until q3, didn't see coverage of his second run but it seems he messed it up? Unlucky with the traffic in his first run.

When you have problems with the tires its very difficult to have confidence (going into the corners and so on). I still think he should have been able, by now to sort his issues.

I couldnt see Q, but i saw some clips of FP1-2 and in all of them Massa had grip problems.
