he's talented , he's truly a great driver , the only problem i can say about him is that he is too aggressive , mark my words if he wants to be smooth , he needs to smoothen his chocolate.

Any examples? If anything he's not being aggressive enough which is why he isn't getting enough heat into his tyres.

was goin to say that.

Yeah, sure you were...

Even though you said hes not aggressive enough.

Doesn't cut it.
Button is smooth and he does well; better than Massa this year.
There is something else bothering him he blames the tires but, everyone uses the same tires.
I believe it's his nerve in running high rpm thru the turns.
The cars today have to have lots of high velocity air; (exhaust) running over and thru the rear diffuser to produce down force.
He hasn't got his nerve up yet to think high rpm thru the turns.

It's not all about the tyres but he's done noticeably better on circuits that used the softer compounds.

yup. He's done good enough when the tires are ok for him. I think, there's a little bit of a characteristic of the F10 that is a bit gentler on the tires... this must have been difficult for Massa to get around, without compromising performance in some other key area.

Everybody uses the same tires, but not everyone is in the same car. And not everyone sets their car up and drives it the same. Otherwise Heidfeld and Kimi wouldnt have had such a terrible season in 2008.

They SHOULD be able to get around it. Together with the team, by tweaking and twitching, but its not so simple, specially with so little testing.

One of the changes Ferrari brought to Korea was to help get more heat into the tyres faster. When Felipe gets his tyres up to temp, he puts in some very competitive laps. Unfortunately he's usually behind too many cars to show his speed. He is probably letting the tyre thing get to him a little too much, but I sure, he's only a good performance away from turning the corner and being right at the top. I expect and want to see him winning lots of races next year.

During practice today smedley was telling massa his front tyres were too hot

*shurgs*, though I guess the tyres are a bit odd for all drivers because of the newly laid track?

He must have put his front tyres a bit too close to Jenson's McLaren :D

NA he was too slow to get that close to Jenson.

Slower than a parked car being hit with fire extinguishers, now that would be slow

So there you go... if Ferrari brought stuff to get his tires warmer, then they must be working. Now he needs to dial the setup to get them to NOT overheat.

And that's what I mean... its not just simply a matter of getting the tires warmer for 1 lap, its the matter of getting the tires warm enough... wihout compromising performance on antoher aspect and without overshooting the temps or sacrificing long term durability etc.

Again, its something he SHOULD (ie there's no excuse), but its not that simple.
I'm sure its not through lack of effort on his part though... and doesnt look like something instinctively wrong with him, judging from how he does get good performance under certain conditions...

Yeah Massa was pretty slow in japan but didn't think he hit fire extinguishers, pretty sure he hit an F1 car!

You sure you watched? that was faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaast. :P
