Cool, what are the requirements for that to happen?

I can only offer those two links for an explanation I hope they help.

Great, if Texas becomes a Republic the USA would be without a GP again... :hehe:

i'd take the loss of the US GP for that benefit!

We'd have a NYC GP again... with medals if Bernie has his way.

It is a huge issue that america is paying dearly for. The whole issue is the documentation so they (the immigrants) can pay taxes and contribute to the economy that they are illegally bleeding dry. If they love america so much why not contribute to our economy? :irked:

Don't be ridiculous! At the income level the illegals are operating, they already pay exactly the same amount of taxes as any legal immigrant or US citizen: nothing! On the contrary, they actually pay more via sales tax and fees, etc., but not being able to claim Earned Income Credit on their tax return (since they don't file), while American white trash gets money paid from the IRS due to that Earned Income Credit. Plus, the undocumented immigrants don't get as much out of their contributions to the economy since they are not eligible.
And why are they at such a low income level? Because those big farmers or hotels or affluent people who hire nannies and gardeners, etc., don't pay crap for wages, and thus, exploit those illegals. So, go after them instead of the immigrants! :banghead::rolleyes:
And besides, one doesn't have to love America (as you presume above) in order to try to eek out a better existence by subjecting themselves to poor but hard working conditions, no health insurance or other benefits while being constantly at risk of being jailed and/or deported. The modern form of slavery!

Ummm... you forgot to mention NAFTA the reason there's fewer decent paying jobs in this country in the first place. Imagine how many illegal immigrants working towards legalized status with their work ID cards, (having their children able to join the US military or pursue an education ) would be able to answer those global Windows 7 and Linksys router support calls right from a Texas call center instead of one in Bangladesh.

Your example makes no sense. NAFTA is the NORTH AMERICA Free Trade Agreement. Bangladesh is not in North America.

NAFTA would have actually helped the situation because you would be creating jobs in Mexico and keeping some of the people looking for jobs away from having to cross the border.

I am with you on the globalization being a bad thing train. I hate it that everything I buy nowadays says "made in China" or "made in Bangladesh". It is the greedy corporations that didn't see enough of a win in Mexico over US or Canada so they decided to send the jobs to China, Bangladesh, Pakistan, etc... We are competing with countries that actively manage their economies so that they are not competing fairly (especially the Chinese). Mexico aside from being poor didn't play the same sort of financial shenanigans that we see Asia playing - so I was happy to compete with them and use my hard earned spending dollars to help raise them out of poverty and into the North American markets as an equal.

Lets not forget as well that a big part of NAFTA was the USA wanting to get it's hands on Canadian natural resources, and removing the tariffs on those items. But that doesn't play so well in the media when bashing the NAFTA agreement because it is a part that worked out.

It was a bad idea, it was worst for the US, so-so for Canada and Mexico got the best deal and developed it into the most economic growth. It was an exaggeration on my part including south east Asia but over the years NAFTA has been expanded and certainly led to the business culture of off-shoring jobs in the first place.

Now now don't be too harsh on DD because he lives in Canada and his opinion is mearly based upon what he reads :nono::hehe: . He hates law enforcement but will be the first one to call 911 when his *^&*^^$% is missing. Just because one can spout off several chapters of their political views and deem other views a ludicrous does not make them stupid only ignorant as to the real situation. . Book smarts does not make one 'real world smart' as it usually shows "I don't know what the heck I'm talking about but I'm right" in a sad sort of way.
