Ok, I've got to say in the not-nice way:
In a couple of years time, Vettel will kick everyone's bottom, people; just remember that.

X2

If he is given a fast car he will have fast lap times

If he is given a amazing and equally reliable team he will have the WDC, it does not matter where

He... can't... overtake...

I prefer Rosberg..IMO he is a bigger talent than Vettel and his driving skills are better..
BTW I think Vettel will go to Ferrari..

I prefer Rosberg too.

I just don't get why a team like McLaren would want Vettel, they could have almost anyone.

Because hes fast? like really really fast?

Maybe he does crash (A LOT) but hes fast and thats impossible to deny.

And yes it would ruin the british dream of two british drivers at McLaren but McLaren want whats best for them, and if that means wanting a rising talent, why wouldnt they go for it?!

Well he's faster than Webber and Bourdais atleast. I'm not sure I agree with this image he has as a supremely fast driver. Fast? Yes. But abnormally fast? I don't think so. What he is, is inconsistent and seriously lacking maturity. Not to mention his dubious overtaking record.

As for rising talent, I think I'd rather place a bet on someone like Kobayashi.

Kobayashi is nowhere near being as fast as Vettel.

There is no chance to beat Hamilton..Hamilton is already the best driver in the planet and he isn't at his peak yet and this is scary..Hamilton already in 4 years beat 2 WC teammates..Hamilton will be unbeatable people; just remember that.
Tell Vettel first of all to beat Webber because it's not sure...
Vettel will never be better than Lewis...
Lewis from his rookie season prove how big talent is and why so many past legends and F1 experts compare him to past Legends like Senna and Fangio..
Rosberg also imo is a bigger talent than Vettel..

WTF? He hasn't beaten Button yet. Don't count your chickens until they're hatched (or more accurately, Hamilton's points-tally until it's final)

Oh come on, people...

1. Bahrain - from pole, finishes 4th for an engine power loss
2. Australia - from pole, retires for a brake problem
3. Malesia - from 2nd, passes Webber at the star and wins
4. China - wet race, he made quite a few overtaking manoeuvres, including Webber and Schumacher
5. Spain - from 2nd, behind Webber, has a brake problem and ends up 3rd
6. Monaco - starts 2nd, finishes 2nd
7. Turkey - crashes with webber from P2 in an attempt to get the lead
8. Canada - Tyres issue add to RBR not being great; finishes 4th in front of Webber
9. Europe - pole --> win
10. Britain - gets a puncture and overtakes quite a few people to get back into the points, including Schumacher and Sutil
11. Germany - from pole, gets pipped by the Ferraris and finishes 3rd
12. Hungary - from pole, gets a drive-through and ends up third; can't overtake Alonso because overtaking at the Hungaroring is impossible
13. Belgium - tries to overtake Button but loses it
14. Italy - starts behind Webber, after the start is in front, has a problem with the brakes and falls behind again; finishes in front

how was he supposed to make many more overtakings than what he did?!?!

Everybody is beatable.

Also, I didn't claim Vettel will be unbeatable.
I said he will kick some asses; but maybe there will be somebody who will fight against him and will do exactly the same.
And maybe they'll kick each other's bottom during the season(s), just like in any great F1 fight.

If Hamilton drive the RB6 he would destroy Vettel or Webber...
Hamilton is the only active driver who compared so much with past legends and the only who has a chance to be the GOAT..
And that's coming from experts or past legends...
"Hamilton could become the best ever"-Mika Häkkinen
"It was outstanding. Senna-type driving. Honestly." said Lauda on Hamilton after the Hockenheim race 2008
"I remember Fangio won in Germany in 1957 with a super-human effort by the seat of his pants. That was Lewis Hamilton-type driving. You don't do many of those. It happened way back in history and it's happening today. Lewis is going to win races, I've no doubt about that."-Sir Jackie Stewart
"I would say, absolutely, yes [Hamilton could win seven titles].When you think about what he has done in such a short time - just arriving and competing in his rookie season with [double world champion Fernando] Alonso and being very often quicker - that talks for itself." -Michael Schumacher

What? You were serious?

Oh dear...You should probably consult an expert, because there must be something wrong with your eyesight. Or your brain.

All Vettel needs is a bit more maturity, and the eventual World Champion will be right there. Whoever denies that Vettel has the talent to become a champion, or to think that he's not enough for teams like McLaren or Ferrari, well, that person is delusional.

Vettel's been in F1 for four years now, first as a test driver and then as a race driver, taking part in his first race in 2007. That's more than enough time to learn that the fastest way from A to B is not a straight line if there's another car in the way. That's not lack of maturity, that's lack of racecraft and if he hasn't learnt that yet he's not likely to learn it any time soon.

He's undoubtedly fast but he can't race with other cars. Maybe he should go to rallying.

Can't see McLaren picking him up until he understands the basics of driving in a race.

Button can overtake and he can do it very well, watch some of last seasons races if you can and you will see he is probably in the top 3 of best overtakers on the grid currently, this season he has been a bit lackluster not sure why but he has still shown this season he is a very skilled overtaker.

He had plenty of chances to overtake drivers in similar speed cars than his and either never took the chance or crashed.

Sutil made a huge mistake when Vettel overtook because he wasn't even on the road at the time, he was actually stuck behind Sutil for a good 10-15 laps before Sutil made the mistake.

Its a fact he is terrible when other cars are involved but he hopefully will get better.

Didn't Senna get something like 8 poles and only 2 wins each in 85, 86 & 87 and then went onto become WDC in 1988. I'm a massive Webber fan (Go you Aussie thing) and love seeing Seb do crazy things to destroy his WDC chances but the guy can drive....very, very fast. And I reckon that in 2011 and 2012 he will be a lot more mature and very hard to beat for the WDC provided Red Bull are competitive.

Although if you ask me, the real sleeping giant amongst them all is Kubica, very fast, very consistent, very switched on. Give him a dominant car and he will be WDC. Would love to see him partner Alonso. Ferrari (Alonso/Kubica) vs McLaren (Hamilton/Vettel) - 2013 - although by then those four will probably all be a bunch of has beens anyway.

He can overtake, just not one of the best. He's not as fast as Lewis either. The only way he gets to beat Lewis is when there is a calculated gamble present, such as weather conditions or setup options. Equal machinery, equal chances, Jenson is solid No.2 to his teammate, period.

If I think of Vettel being next to Lewis, things might not be very clear cut. I won't be surprised if Vettel is faster than Lewis once in a while, he's got some fantastic speed, much like when Kimi was at his prime in McLaren.

No, not plenty. He has had *some* chances to overtake drivers in cars close to speed to RBR and didn't take them.
He crashed twice, not 5 times. Twice it's a bit much, it's not *too much*.
And he did pulled some overtakings in quite a few races (Malaysia at the start, China, Britain) - and during quite a few of the other races he was either 1st or 2nd behind Webber!

10. Britain - gets a puncture and overtakes quite a few people to get back into the points, including Schumacher and Sutil

Oh, it doesn't matter.

Kubica got horrendously out of shape at Eau Rouge at Spa because of the rain, but he got the car back and squeezed Vettel on the grass keeping him behind.
Also, Vettel passed Kubica in the end at Spa, right?
