The decision has been made regardless of what we think, no amount of website polls will make a bit of difference. I am not particularly happy about the decision, it is another case of Ferrari getting away with blatantly breaking the rules, despite the lack of hard evidence there was more than enough circumstantial evidence to impose sanctions on Ferrari. I personally don't care whether it's blatant or not, team orders should be punished, even under the old rule book if team orders are used, the teams have to prove its for the benefit of the championship campaign, which was not the case; 11 races into the season and the points gap was potentially only a couple of race victories difference.

I locked the other thread about this subject because the reaction to the decision was a repetition of the previous 20 pages, let's hope for some fresh views in this thread!

So what will the FIA do in Monza if Ferrari come on the radio and say, "Fernando ....is....faster..... than ......you. Do you understand."
Then Renault come on and say "Robert ....is....faster..... than ......you. Do you understand."
Then Mercedes come on and say "Michael....is....faster..... than ......you. Do you understand."
Then Red Bull come on and say, "Seb ....is....faster..... than ......you. Do you understand. NO NO SORRY, old habits die hard that should have said "Mark ....is....faster..... than ......you. Do you understand."
Then McLaren comes on and say "Whoever is in front, the one behind is faster, do you understand."
What will the FIA do then? I wish the teams would do that.

I don't like the way Ferrari, and now Todt are playing us all for fools! not enough evidence my arse! A racing driver never slows down to let the car behind he is "racing" go ahead, conveniently after a clearly coded radio message! Please everyone involved spare me your lies we all know what happened give fans some credit!
#214327
If you read the report they're not saying there's not enough evidence theyre saying they find ferari guilty. They're just not bothering to do anything about it.

No more obvious than the save fuel line of crap..but you swallowed that one with a smile on your face. A racing driver never happily accepts second place either...but business is business.

Yeah I know I'm going on the comments from Todt who said there's not enough evidence about team orders.

2 words here, "Who cares".... and I actually deleted my original comment because it was more like who gives and then the f word. Team orders are normal in all motorsports. GT1, WRC, WTCC and I am sure the list goes on. F1 is no different. This is a nonsense thread and the real purpose of it is for all Ferrari haters to have a go at Ferrari. Well you monority F1 fans that do not like Ferrari, get over it. McLaren uses team orders as well and so will Red Bull when the time is right. If you think no then you are kidding yourselves. This topic is a continuation of a thread that has already been locked. This one should be locked as well as it is nothing more than a Ferrari hate thread.

no the whole team orders thing brings up a very sore spot for the majority of fans, so a hell of alot of people care, just look at twitter on wednesday people were going crazy.

i really despise the way karun chandok and morris hamilton are defending team orders, because it has been around in the past for a long time or hard to enforce doesn't justify using banned orders in the first place, they bring the sport into disrepute they are unsporting and the severely damage the image of f1 and the drivers. and im very surprised bernie Ecclestone was so vocal about defending them knowing the damage they do.

What are you on about? This is a fact, around 75% of the world's F1 fans are Ferrari fans in one shape or another. I cannot see any Ferrari fan caring less about the team orders thing that happen in Germany. So even if all other supporters of other F1 teams other than Ferrari do care about this (and I doubt all do care but let us say they all do for arguments sake), then that makes around 25% of the world's F1 fans actually care about this. And you reckon the majority of F1 fans were upset over this. I don't feel cheated at all. And I would say the other 75% of F1 supporters who are Ferrari fans would feel the same as me. You are such a dreamer and simply a Ferrari hater. Being a Ferrari hater makes you an F1 clown.

Its pathetic!! Not enough evidence ??? How much evidence do they do ?

It was crystal clear!!

WHO CARES

I bet if the WDC comes down to Webber vs Hamilton and McLaren are coming first and second with Button leading that the pair would swap spots. This is a reality. McLaren are not stupid. They want to win just as much as Ferrari and anybody else. You are all a bunch of deluded Ferrari haters that are simplyn jealous of Ferrari's achievements in F1 and a small minority who have nothing better to do than bicker but yet when McLaren or someone else does it, then oh dear, that's all ok, no one issued team orders, McLaren doesn't do that, it's against their policy...... Yeah right, get over it. And here is another bullshiit I hear. Massa jumped the start and Ferrari are cheats because he got away with it. But if that is the case why didn't ALonso get away with jumping the start in Malesia thisn year? Of course how we all forget when it is no longer comnvenient. Or what about in Canada when Alonso got done for that safety car incident but not Hamilton. Or more like Hamilton got a penalty when it was too late and it made no difference. Yes how we all like to pick and choose. Just because Ferrari haters have nothing better to do since their teams are simply not in a league of Ferrari.

branding someone a ferrari hater because they have views that are opposite to the Reich is pathetic.

75% of fans are ferrari fans ???? Where did you get that stat ? to have something like " Ferrari international assistance" trend #1 on twitter in the world isn't like there's just 5 kids who are a bit pissed off, its not like they are even saying " oh ferrari got away with that " its that FIA assistance slur AGAIN and AGAIN.

i don't want McLaren to use team orders, most people didn't like it before let alone now, the argument that its happened in f1 in the past and will in the future is irrelevant

by Canada safety car incident you mean Valencia, Massa didn't jump start he parked meters over his grid position, Hamilton's penalty to late ? that's happened countless times in the past .

or are you

we all forget when it is no longer comnvenient.

being so deluded makes you a f1 clown not me

Alonso unrepentant over team orders

Buzz Up!

Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso has tried to consign Formula One's 'team orders' controversy to the past and insists the title would be in no way diminished if he won it.

Asked at his team's home Italian Grand Prix whether he felt any relief the sport's governing body had decided to impose no further punishment on Ferrari, the Spaniard shrugged his shoulders.

"It's something that is the past for us and we need to concentrate on Monza," said the double world champion. "It's something we have talked about already too much.

"I am happy to see the FIA will go deep into the rules and try to clarify (them).

"There is no special feeling, nothing to say," added Alonso.

"The decision was something we were waiting for and were ready to respect, whatever it was ... we respect the decision, we keep everything as it was, points etc, so nothing changed for us."

Ferrari were fined £65,000 by stewards at Hockenheim in July for ordering Brazilian Felipe Massa to let team mate Alonso overtake and win the German Grand Prix in a one-two finish.

The FIA's world motor sport council decided at a hearing in Paris on Wednesday to impose no further sanctions on the team but to review the rule that bars the use of such orders.

The decision kept Alonso's title hopes alive, although he is 41 points adrift of McLaren's overall leader Lewis Hamilton with six races, or 150 points, remaining.

Asked whether he would consider the title to be on a par with his other two if he won it this season, Alonso did not hesitate: "Yes," he replied. "You win the title, you win the title."

Asked later for his definition of a worthy world champion, and the ingredients that made one, Alonso smiled at the same old question served up in a different way.

"Whoever is first at the end, it is because he had more points than the others," he said.

"It happens in all sports and this is the way it was in the history of Formula One and football, in Premier League, in tennis as well.

"I am sure you are talking about the decision of yesterday, but you have to respect it, guys, and be calm. Respect everything as we do and don't worry."

:yikes::yikes: Is this guy high or what??

Many from inside the F1 paddock have said all teams use team orders, don't think anyone has said its only Ferrari. Punish Ferrari and they'll probably file a legal case for unfair treatment, demand the FIA backpunish several other teams and events.

It has also emerged that Williams and Sauber had both written letters supporting Ferrari to the FIA.

Whitmarsh added: "They [Ferrari] are either guilty and should be given a penalty, or they're not guilty and should be given back the fine they received.

"Superficially it doesn't seem as logical a ruling as one would have expected but it has no impact on anything I'm going to do this weekend."

Have to agree with Whitmarsh, makes no sense.

it was rather odd, that was during a interview with the 5live f1 team this morning, and morris hamilton almost mocked him for his remarks as if they made no sense, which is rather odd
