I think if I was Ferrari, I would of then given an order of "Smedley, Your weeds are growing in your garden. Do you understand the message?"

haha :hehe: but back to the point, i dont think that any further action will be taken because it would another reputation damager we can all remember i'm sure the events over the last few years ''spygate'' 2007, ''crash gate'' 2008 ''liegate'' 2009 and now ''radio gate'' 2010, so i hope for the interest of the sport, nothing more is done

Seriously, these gates gate on my nerves :irked:

Yes, they have become rather profli-gate.

Maybe time to call the Image
to clean up this mess? :P

 Took me a while... :)

Better late than never, eh?

lol at the picture :hehe: you wouldnt have no trouble then!

Pre-emptive strike from Ferrari?

Spa qualifying radio: "Alonso, Massa's faster than you. Confirm that you understand that message."

Massa qualifies higher than Alonso.

Spa qualifying radio: "Good lad, Alonso. Very magnanimous. Should get the FIA off our backs, too."

When is the hearing for this again? I can't wait for Ferrari to get stripped off their points already. Perfect time for it too, just before Monza their home race.

The hearing is 8 September.

James Allen says that Jean Todt, unlike Mad Max, apart from seeing that it is initiated, does not involve himself (or interfere, depending on your perspective) with the penalty process. I was not aware of this but I see that point working to Ferrari's favor.

why should that be an advantage for Ferrari? :scratchchin:

Because of Todt's past involvement with Ferrari -- and especially because of his role in the 2002 Rubens/MSC incident -- he would have to err to the side of severity to avoid any appearance of favoritism.

Ferrari's being called to answer the charge of Bringing the Sport into disrepute. Their guilt in the contravention of the Team Orders rule is pretty much already established, that they will be found guilty of that is basically a foregone conclusion, the thing I'm wondering is:

A - Will they be punished for that again
B - Will they be found guilty of bringing the sport into disrepute and what will be the penalty for that.

I would suggest that the latter is the more interesting question to my mind, because there is a precedent: the FiA will kick the ever-loving snot out of them for Bringing the Sport into Disrepute if they're found guilty. Past cases of that have resulted in teams being kicked out of the Championship and even completely banned from competing permanently. I doubt either of those will occur, however it's possible Ferrari could face a multi-race ban. They have some worrying to do.

yes its bringing the sport into disrepute that is seen as the far more serious charge, as we all know how much bernie likes to keep things clean ........... . .

i hope they get batterd, but in reality i wouldnt expect to much i have been let down before

Niki Lauda has calrified he never made the remarks attributed to him...

Once again... shows the whole team order BS is more press-induced than anything else.

SOME press is trying to manipulate the FIA into the idea that we (the fans) collectively want to keep the BS rule... ehhhhh no we dont. And neither do the "oposing" fans when team orders work for the benefit of their team, as history has shown.

Actually, I unequivocally support the Team Orders rule and I always have. Don't usurp the royal "we".

Just if one of the two drivers is out of contention for the WDC or in any case, Jensonb? (it's just a curiosity)

In any case, the kind of blatant manipulation displayed by Ferrari is not okay. If a driver is out of contention for the WDC, it's their choice whether or not to help the teammate, but the gentlemanly thing to do would be to do so. The rule is not so much about the act of yielding itself as it is about the cynical act of ordering the leader to step aside over the radio.

There are team orders and then there are team orders.

I think for the most part F1 fans can tell the difference, ask Nelson Piquet.
