[What's Burning?]

For the love of God, will someone please change the title of this thread to "Which active driver...". It hurts my eyes.

It's not just me then

I think we're in an OCD minority of grammar pedants.

Can I sign up?

At some point along the evolution of the internet, it because unpopular to correct grammatical mistakes. Some do make me cringe.

This is an international forum so I'm willing to give people the benefit of the doubt, since they're better at speaking English than I am at speaking the native tongue of some of our regulars.

[The Immortal Dragon]

you're a bit OT, I think

The records show that Hamilton is the kindest to his car. He has the least DNF % out of any current driver.
He is actually the second kindest in the history of F1. Only one man tops him on the list, some no name driver.

[scotty]

Do the records account for the fact that cars have become more and more reliable over the years anyway? Nope. So to say this or that driver is the 'kindest' to their car based on DNF's is a pretty misleading way to go...

And as you mentioned Hamilton, it also does not account for all those punctures he had. Are the punctures just coincidental? Perhaps, but incredibly unlikely to be the case.

Cheers for the statistics nish. This should come in handy for some people on this forum who say McLaren have been "extremely solid for past 3-4 years" for future reference.

[The Immortal Dragon]

well it's still more than 90%.
I would say that with 91.5% the car is still very solid and reliable.

That the car has the most laps completed doesnt mean the car is the most reliable. When a driver slams the car or gets slammed from behind, doesnt mean the car is unrealiable. Learn to read you stupid mother

Wow...and I'm not even trying to provocate you here! Don't get a heartattack now....

Anyway, who cares if its above 90% or 80%, its all about comparison. If McLaren end up having more failures than their main competitors, it's not going to make them solid, as they are LOSING OUT.

doesnt matter whether you're trying to provoke me or not. I dont mind... But if you're going to reply to stuff I say, at least understand it. Or dont come up with bogus interpretations just to say some BS. So... like I said, for each time you do so I will answer in the same fashion. Get it, face?

This was posted earlier:

Have you ever considered that Lewis' car breaks more often because of his driving style? Driving the car fast while bringing the car home is another aspect of F1; Jenson will almost certainly bring the car home, maybe further down the road but he is unlikely to crashout.

If your car breaks before the last lap you get a DNF, right? And here it is said that Hamilton's car breaks more often, more often than what?
(when he has the best race completion record of anyone on the grid).

Just more Hamilton misconceptions as usual.

Here is the data. Hamilton has a 9.5% retirement rate the 2nd best of all time.
