I remember this "driver breaking the car" theory when Kimi's car kept breaking at McLaren. It was ridiculous then, and ridiculous now. Funny these theories only come up for McLaren don't you think? I support the team, but they don't build very durable F1 cars to be honest.

Mclaren has been the absolute most solid car in the past 3-4 seasons.

Forget the points and look at the races..

Forget the races. Look at the numbers.... hehe
Then how come you use NUMBERS to say Lewis destroyed a 2x WDC... and yet claim races is what matter for him destroying Button.

The only thing consistent in your speach is Lewis destroying somebody. And I think i said in p1 of this thread: if you want to say Lewis destroys anybody or is the best ever and better than anything that's ever toatsed toast.... You can say so. Dont have need to make a whole thread and make up funny logic to say so..........

Could you kindly list down the number of car failures for these 3 teams for 2010:

McLaren:
Ferrari:
Redbull:

Involving both cars of each team. Then we can conclude together what is the meaning of "absolutely the most solid car"

Or if you're too sleepy and need to get to bed, I'll fully understand. :)

I read it and answered. Now you're trying to act clever because you don't have an answer. It's okay, I forgive you...I'm a generous guy.

You read it, misunderstood and answered. I was not acting clever, i was simply (frustratingly) explaining what a pretty basic sentence means. I do have an answer and I mentioned it. But you, for the 51st time weren't able to tell from the lines written.

Who is the best? still have to wait a few more races, right now they are all about tied... very close. If he finishes with the best results in the end of this season (even regardless of whether he won the WDC or not) he may be the best driver in the season. But right now, still some guys are very close and doing as good if not better.

Errr..so now you're saying the person who wins the WDC is the best this year. Okay, if this is how you judge, why don't we delete threads like this as they are just a waste of space...

And your answers clearly mean you didnt understand what was written, or were purposedly misinterpreting a post.
Don't do that. That's 52 times.

I'd forgive you as well, if you were simply unable to understand what is written. But if you are doing it on purpose, then i dont. I'm not as generous as you ;)

No, I know they weren't.

But he was saying that a car shouldn't break unless it goes against a wall..

I'm sorry but this is fraudulent quoting. When did I say this?

I'm pretty sure all the teams out there TARGET (caps to make it clearer) to finish races as FAST as possible (driver pushes the car as hard as he can to get a good result).

When McLaren state something like "Lewis broke the car" or "Lewis drove it too fast" I will be happy to wave the white flag.

Of course all teams do target to finish races as fast as possible.
However, some drivers' styles make use too much of certain parts of the cars, making a failure more likely.

Having said this, nobody said that this is what is at the root of Hamilton's retirements. It was just a theory, a question that will never be answered. To the team as well, so they won't say "Hamilton broke the car". It doesn't work like that.

The theory that this happens due to a driver's driving style is not stupid, though. Those things do happen.

Also, I think that people started talking about these things not with Raikkonen but with Barrichello, when Schumacher's Ferrari never broke down, whilst Rubens's did every.. what.. two races?
#212481
No, it was Raikkonen in 2005....since Montoya's car finished many more races than his.

Hamiltons reliability have been down to defective parts. I believe it was some hydraulic issue.

I still find it very difficult to buy the driver breaking the car theory. The cars are equipped with high tech electronics and engine mapping, surely the engineers would make sure the driver isn't beating up his own car. If he is, a simple radio call to tell the driver to chill out can be made?

Most parts of an F1 car are moving parts; moving parts tend to fail when subjected to strong forces, Hamilton does hit the curbs very hard, which puts the whole suspension system under immense load; these parts are actually very fragile especially if sideways forces are in effect, Lewis does tend to slide his car more, subjecting the whole car for more lateral motion, which could be a possible cause of suspension failures. I don't care what type of car you drive, if you drive it hard, it's lifespan will be less!

As expected from a british site

Thats true cause the Italian and Spanish forums are pretty impartial arent they :irked:

That doesn't mean much then either, if everyone's biased how will we know?

This is a website on the Internet, which by default makes it an international website, we have members from many different countries, we have British, American, Canadian, Australian, Spanish, Slovenian, Swiss and many more, there is a diverse amount of opinion on this forum, it's an English speaking forum, that's all!!!

Back to the topic please; nationalistic comments has nothing to do with this thread and has no place on this forum!

Wow,i cant believe i am the only one said Jenson Button.I think McLarens both have this potential. They are both stable, ambitious(which doesnt hurt theirselves),challenging and much more things ''the Greatest'' would need.

Jenson will never be the greatest, he doesn't have age on his side and spent too many years with a team (BAR/Honda) that couldn't deliver mail to a mailbox!!!

Oh,i thought that he just has the potential.I found his success(especially last year!!) so impressing thats why i thought so.I still presume that-but hes got a little chance!
