So it is pretty clear from the transmission from pit to Massa that it was a team order. Also don't forget that the BBC pit commentator had said something about an argument going on in the Ferrari pit around the same time and then everyone having a good sulk (I THINK this was before the team order was given).

Forgetting the fact that we think the rule is ridiculous, and that Smedley and Massa were pouting (although with good reason).

What we now have from all reports is not only Ferrari breaking the team orders ruling, but also lying to the stewards. Similar to what McLaren did last year. Hamilton AND McLaren were DQed from the race. So a team being DQed for this sort of thing is not without precedent. Also going back and reviewing on-site stewards decisions and reviewing the evidence is not without precedent as seen in this instance, and also the Renault Crash-gate.

I imagine that the lying to the stewards will be rolled into their punishment for "bringing the sport into disrepute".

My thinking is that Ferrari and their two drivers are disqualified from the GP and all other drivers promoted by two positions. Also, someone from the teams always falls on their swords when this happens. Who will it be from Ferrari?

Exactly. The argument from Ferrari fans is that the rule is not clear, etcetcetc...well Ferrari brought the sport in disrespute by their lies in the press conference, withholding the real info all this time, and now threatening to sue in case of action. Hope the FIA are tougher than I think they are and do the right thing. Even if Ferrari want to quit F1 because of this, boo hoo.

Ferrari threatening to quit F1? Surely not, I simple don't believe it.... oh, hang on a moment... ah, never mind!!!

I have a feeling in my bones that nothing will be done, maybe fined a little more money and suspended ban! I would count Montezemolo never being able to open his mouth again as a great punishment, Ferrari can keep all their points if I never see or hear from Montezemolo again, yes he does annoy me that much!

The FIA better not award other teams points, that'd just make things worse.

All they've really got Ferrari on is "bringing the sport into disrepute", becuase this time the team order was obvious and significant enough for fans and media to make a fuss. Judging from their comments about "hypocrisy", Ferrari are going to start pressuring the FIA into taking punishment against all teams that have used team orders, through making it publicly available Ferrari may complain that those teams have also brought the "sport into disrepute"

I think if I was Ferrari, I would of then given an order of "Smedley, Your weeds are growing in your garden. Do you understand the message?"

haha :hehe: but back to the point, i dont think that any further action will be taken because it would another reputation damager we can all remember i'm sure the events over the last few years ''spygate'' 2007, ''crash gate'' 2008 ''liegate'' 2009 and now ''radio gate'' 2010, so i hope for the interest of the sport, nothing more is done
