Apologies if this has been discussed-I couldnt find anything when I searched.
I was very suprised when I read that it was Newey's unilateral decision to switch the wings :yikes: Horner only found out when s*** erupted from Webber's side of the garage. I'd imagined it was the team acting to appease the Austrian contingent.
Part of the reason newey left williams in 96 was because he felt Williams treated damon unfairly. So why did he make that call? Was it because Vettel had initially been more praising of the new wing? Both drivers found extra time with it and Webber was faster before Q3. So why did he do it? What do you think?

He probably just thought Vettel would perform better with it.

Now there is going to be some story about how Newey's nephew is planning to marry Vettel's cousin which is why he was trying to please Vettel because Vettel doesnt like Newey's nephew.

Not everything is a controversy!

It's all in the past now; it doesn't matter if Newey made the decision, it worked out in Mark's favour in the end, gave Mark the extra incentive to get to the first corner first! That's the advantage I believe Mark has over Sebastian, Mark uses that anger in a positive way instead of seeing the red mist like Sebastian!
