As mentioned before, get rid of the silly aero features, and bring back slicks and wide track cars.

Also limit the drivers to one run in each quali session - although that run could be 3 or 4 flying laps, for example.

Another possibilty would be to add ballast depending on previous results or qualifying positions, similar to what they have in the BTCC.

Agreed, plus additional reforms at the FIA.

What can be done to the cars? Well, just as people have said. So far the majority of the cars' grip comes from aerodynamic parts hanging left, right and centre off the cars. Getting rid of these and trying to focus more on mechanical grip, maybe bringing back slicks, would be a start. Traction control is thankfully on it's way out. Higher rear wings and lower front wings would also reduce the amount of downforce lost by removing aerodynamic bits of the side pods etc. Getting rid of semi-automatic gear boxes would also put more focus on driver skill.

The thing is much of that won't happen as Formula One is supposed to be the most technically advanced form of motorsport so reverting to 1980s and 1990s levels of technology may conflict with that. I would argue though that Formula One is also the stage on which the very best drivers on the planet are meant to showcase their skills and having too many driver aids and technologies contradicts that aspect of the sport.

I'm not sure what to think about the FIA's views on the future of Formula One. Moving wings certainly cover the advanced-technology part, however, they're a little je ne sais quoi. I think having greener engines is also bowing to political and commericial pressures.

Hey all... this season was extremely competitive at the top, somewhat interesting mid-field (but no hope of chasing the fronters), and the back of the grid seemed hopeless... many races were decided in qualy and (sauf few examples!) most passes relied on strategy or performance (meaning the superior car took over the lesser).

Bridgestone being the sole tyre supplier could have helped competition this season, but i think its impact will be clearer in the longer term... anyway competition should probably not take away the elite position of F1 in motorsports, so...

WHAT DO YOU THINK SHOULD F1 IMPLEMENT TO BECOME MORE COMPETITIVE??

Hm... no qualifications (but for the first race and to determine start position of DNF drivers). Other drivers will start next race the opposite of their current finish - winner will be last, 2nd will be 2nd to last etc. Now that would be a mess... but funny one to watch.

But it only works because they have multiple races per day. I don't think I'd want to see this in F1 as different tracks suit different cars and the weight penalty could be a double penalty if the next track you were going to was one of your weaker tracks.

I doubt the FIA will add weight to winning drivers/cars. This works in other categories where you have very different cars/engines etc but F1 is somewhat restrictive to car developers, and during the races, to ensure that different cars can be considered 'essentialy' similar... adding weight to winning cars may lead to development stagnation.... after all, why develop a car if the result for winning too much will be a weight-increase penalty?

I like the elimination of traction control, it will definitely increase passing on curve exits, even though it may change very little on other situations... But I think that a) no assists, b) slick tyres from the same provider and c) decreased dependancy on aero should do a good job.

BTCC also decides he pole sitter for the 3rd race by the means of a "wheel of fortune". Imagine if that was suddenly implemented into F1 and someone like Yamamoto ended up on pole!!
