I know it's been said but I want to go on record saying vettel's penalty was unfair. No driver would know that rule, and he was not the lead driver, he didn't even know the SC situation.

He may not have known the rule but that doesn't really make it unfair because he failed to read the rule book.

I would think he did know the rule though and as he said he was caught sleeping and did his usual stupid move of holding up the pack to try to get a slight advantage.

Look back at the previous races and see how many times he has tried to slow up the rest of the cars the exact same way, he did the same again and didn't realize he was breaking a rule which again is his fault no one elses.

The rules are there for a reason if drivers don't want to know about them than they cant complain when they break them.

:wavey:

A good win for Webber. Vettel would have made himself look better if he lied to us and said, "I deliberately held the field back because I wanted my team mate to get far enough in front for a Red Bull 1-2." Instead he was selfish.

Big whoop. Webber was selfish in Turkey. I'm satisfied with the result. The penalty was legit. I knew Vettel wouldn't be able to get past Alonso, neither could Webber. While I view the result as points lost instead of gained, I am still satisfied.

Another thing I am incredibly happy about is Petrov's fifth place!:thumbup:

Webber can win this year's championship. I will be happy with either driver. Although perhaps Webber deserves it more this year. However we can quite clearly see from this race how much faster Vettel is than Webber. :)

He might be faster but Webber is quite clearly more experienced and a better all round driver, Vettel is amazingly fast but thats all he has shown and i doubt he would have as many poles if any of the other teams were even within shouting distance of the Red Bulls in Qualifying.

Sorry for posting my opinion on a public forum, i however did read the previous posts in case you wanted to know.

I apologise if this has already been brought up but here's my little rant.

Don't get me wrong, I'm STOKED for Webber winning this one, but I can't help but feel RB's stratergies will be their downfall.
Why Webber did not pit during the safety car is beyond me... Vettel was far enough in front to avoid queuing Webber at the stop and RB's mechanics still had enough time to be 100% ready for Webber once he pitted.

At this stage I was spewing as it looked as if Webber was going to drop dramatically to minor points.

The thing that made this worse for myself was that Red Bull obviously weren't learning from the same mistakes they made in Melbourne and Malaysia while controlling the race. If anybody can remember the instances I'm thinking of, where both times RB refused to pit both drivers on the same lap, they will understand my point of view.

Bottom line is Red Bull capitalised on two mistakes that had the potential to COMPLETELY backfire on them today.

But hey, who am I to complain. $200 aud won on Webber winning the race and now leading the champioship is no reason to be Pi***d.

I don't think that not pitting Webber was a bad move. (as it turned out it was great), but they took a gamble knowing that their car was about 1 sec per lap faster hoping that Webber could pull out the required gap. At worst he would have ended up 4th and at best it would have netted 2nd until vettel got that penalty.

Sure this all depended on no more SC's and their trust that Webber could actually put in the required laps.

Those are 2 points I forgot to make mention of Narcil. Both extremely valid.

Are people really suggesting that Vettel didn't know the safety car rule? That is ridiculous. It's a SAFETY CAR...of course he knows the rule. And if he doesn't perhaps the MILLIONS he is making is far to much. He knew, and he was caught sleeping. He said as much in the interview. He goofed it. He isn't a victim of his team or his fictitious radio failure (funny...it worked beautifully when he was penalized and crying his eyes out).

He didn't know the rule...seriously, where do you guys get this stuff?

The crying was funny. I cant see him maintaining a title challange unless he does about 16 years growing up in 6 weeks

why did they just not tell him why when he was in the car. at lease he would of gone "oh well yep my bad" instead of getting all upset

'cos this is Seb, if they'd told him in the car he wouldnt just have gone "oh well my bad" he would have cried even harder and probably crashed. They were having to calm him down as it was.I think they wanted an arm round him when he dealt with it.
