Also I don't expect Renault to be a race winner in the next couple of years, when you have those top 3 teams continually improving, busy leapfrogging each other. Perhaps Kubica has decided to become a paycheque player?

I can't see that being the case, especially if he was a real Ferrari (mega $$$) prospect. I think Renault will struggle for a win this season, but I can certainly see Renault winning a race or two next season. Given that they are under new ownership and this is effectively their first season, they have done amazingly given what a dog of a car they (Renault as a manufacturer) had last season. Kubica has the talent to challenge for wins, I think Renault will be one of the teams to flourish under the budget cap next season!

I attribute Renault's relative success of late to Kubica and a bit to their disturbing front wing obsession. Without the actual superpower of Renault behind it all the way, I expect them to remain an also-ran.

Guess we'll find out next season! :P Even with the "superpower of Renault" behind them; it didn't do them any good in '08 - '09... I think that Renault will be a dark horse!!!

Yeah but you know where that front wing thing comes from? The fact that they've resigned their best aero guys, who were mysteriously let go in 2007 and massively attributed to their success beforehand. Those guys are another part of the reason i think Renault can easily get back to the front.

Id imagine the slowest 3 teams would keep the same men, not much points spending more money is their?

Dunno, i think Hispania might end up making a change for money reasons (ie to bring more in). I'd be surprised if Lotus made a change, they're pretty solid at the moment. Virgin... maybe Di Grassi could go, and they surely want to keep hold of Glock (an extremely capable driver, imo).

I'd also be pretty amazed if Williams changed their lineup out of choice. I can't see Sutil moving either.

I think Hulkenburg could go up to Renault. I think he could suit them better, i think Petrov could move up to a better improved team. He needs that, He is good, but I think a new team need to work on that? The funds might be hard to find. He pays for the drive, I think Raikkonen could take it too.

Really can't see it mate. Hulkenburg is a Williams protege like Rosberg was - he'll be there for a few seasons at least, i think. Petrov will stay at Renault depending on the Raikkonen situation, if he moves i would bet it'd be to Sauber or another team that could do with his funding. He's done well so far, so it'd be a travesty if he ended up without a drive, all things considered.

Not to drag this thread miles off topic, which GP2 drivers do people think will show up in F1 next season? Maldonaldo is leading by a decent margin so far, but he's been in the series for 4 years now. Too long? And what about Jules Bianchi? Hardly set the world alight but is still young, and has F1 ties already...

My post was mumbled, a certain 'Staff' member was aggravating me lol, but yer i do agree, I think Hulk will stay @ Williams. But he is a really talent, but out of the 2...Petrov is better!

Think Kimi is staying in WRC next season, with a possible switch to Red bull on the cards for 2012?

Tost confirmed them but it seems no contracts have actually been signed. In fact, Buemi actually felt the need to publicly deny signing anything, which i think is an interesting action...

maybe he is holding out for a better offer

A better drive or more money yeah, and i can't really see him getting a spot in a better team to be honest!

Meanwhile, something on Glock:

Interesting to hear that Renault might be after him.

Glock to Renault, if Renault are interested then I think it looks pretty reasonably set. Can't see Virign being able to do much to keep him.

I watched the silverstone race de breif on BBC and Rubens Barrichello was talking about their pace and mentioned 'next season' which suggested that he may well be staying at Williams and oh how I would love Barrichello to stay in F1 because he is a fantastic opinion and deserves so much more! And in 3 races time he will of participated in 300 f1 races! more than anyone ever!

God forbid we put a competitive driver next to Alonso, the team will surely favour Alonso's teammate!!
