What? Why should Webber have to assist Vettel when he's:

a) Leading the championship
b) Driving better
c) Supposedly treated equally by the team

Vettel must earn his championship, not have it handed to him on a silver platter. If he can't do that, he doesn't deserve it.

The big four:- Williams, McLaren, Lotus, Ferrari.

These are the four teams who have had 7 consecutive poles in a row. When this has happened it has always resulted in a world championship win. If Red Bull get pole today they join this elite group.
The statistics for teams with 7 or more consecutive poles make interesting and suprising reading. They are thus

Williams-3 times (24 10 9 )
McLaren -5 times (17 12 9 7 7)
Lotus - twice (10 7)
Ferrari-twice (7 7)

Doesn't mean much in 2010 though. (Your stats). Lotus are just not really Lotus and have as much chance of winning as it being extremely warm in Christmas. Williams are not the team they used to be. So its really Ferrari, McLaren, Red Bull and Mercedes. Well I guess we still have a top 4 then. But would be nice if it were a top 3. Ie, McLaren just go away and disapear.

Well if you're going to be picky, look how many times McLaren had 7 or more consecutive poles.....5 Times!!


No Williams are not the team they used to be yet still they are ahead of Ferrari ....3 Times -once by a huge 24 consecutive poles!!

And Lotus,no not the current one, the original one, How long since they finished competing?? And still they are ahead of Ferrari.

We now have a top 5 actually because Red Bull have joined the club. So Ferrari are not in last place........for the time being....

What? Why should Webber have to assist Vettel when he's:

I cannot believe some of the ludicrous idea's and comments made recently concerning Webber vs Vettel. It seems the CONCEPT OF RACING is lost to those who only support a driver and apparently do not understand the meaning of racing.

F1 about racing; surely not? too much team politics and general bullpoo is ruining F1; team mates are not allowed to race each other like they used to, having to hold station to avoid incidents like the Vettel/Webber crash; that's not racing in my opinion. People were up in arms about the Vettel/Webber crash because of Red Bull's stance that it was 100% Webber's fault when it was clearly not; maybe Webber should have given more room but he was racing for the win; why should he make it easy for Vettel?

Yet the true concept remains intact that F1 is about racing and the politics of F1 have been constant since F1's inception.

Tex, my reply wasn't aimed at you specifically; it was more of a general observation; hence why I didn't quote you!

But to reply to you; YES team orders and such may have been around since the sports inception but not to this extreme; team mates were allowed to race each without interference from the team unless one driver was clearly out in front with his team mate having little to no chance of winning the drivers championship, then resources would be put into the leading drivers campaign. If this is going to be the future of F1; I would rather have 26 teams with one driver than 13 teams of two drivers, no team orders!!!
