I think the investigation is more to see what is the real problem. As he mentioned he has struggled with the harder compounds, not so with the softer... but yeah, he's been a lot slower than Fernando. Still the best driver pairing is at Mclaren, it shows in the constructor's table and despite some people not rating Button that much (or Massa) his gap to Lewis has not been as bad as Alonso/Massa.
Ferrari ousting Massa in the middle of his contract, i doubt it. Don't think he deserves it, dont think Ferrari would do that... but once the contract ends, they will look at options; including Massa.
I'd like robert Kubcia there, but I don't think Ferrari investigating Massa's form is particularly worrying, it just means their trying to find out what in particular is wrong - Massa himself wasn't to sure. And will probably mean they'll take this into consideration for changes to the car.
