thanks people there are 2 or 3 really good posts here.

just replying to slots. at the minute i am looking at core compenttancies, swot and pestel, resourced based view, amoungst others.

just one more request...

Its regarding SWOT (strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats )

for SW which i will be referring to as internal to an organasation i am going to talk about ferrari's domination in 1950s and early 1960s (i think) .

but im kinda stuck for internal weakness of a team, and then external opportunities and external threats.

il make sure to post up my final mark :)

Examples of internal weakness would be a poor team working environment whether from drivers not getting along or from poor internal management or a poor engineer driver teaming or worse, outright accusations of corruption like Renault last year.

A good one you could use for internal weaknesses of a team could be Nigel Mansell and Alain Prost at Ferrari in 1990 when Prost did some pretty dodgy things such as swapping his car for Mansell's when Mansell had a better setup.

A driver demanding favoured status and then blackmailing the team to try to enforce it doesnt bode too well for a strong team spirit.(McLaren 2007)

Asking/allowing a driver to crash deliberately-not good. (Renault 2009)

Not having enough money to carry out development.

Trying to run a race team by consensus and being unable to make quick decisions and respond to situations ( Toyota-most years..and probably Honda)

Poorly structured team relying on one key person-who then leaves.

Must be loads more. But Im fed up of thinking now :D
