Good News?

Good news, my Ferrari Enzo has just arrived in the show room, bad news, I have to pay for it.

Whatever game they're (USF1) playing, its not working. Now show your car... it doesnt have to be fast.

At this point, Force India and USF1 are racing eachother into collapse (Campos Meta 1 seems like they already beat them both though) and even though the UK Government says FI is in jeopardy...They're still the more likely to survive. This whole situation bites! I want 26 damn cars!

I would say F1 is in a better place then they were this time last year for sure.

Here is a bit of an update on USF1 from Bob Varsha who was on some American internet radio station that I have never heard of. Skip forward through the first 30% or so of the broadcast to get the interview. The host Joe Castello asks some good questions about the team and their progress. And on a bit of a side note, I don't care what anyone says about the American F1 coverage, Bob kicks bottom!

I totally agree, but I blame the FIA. This situation could've totally been avoided if the FIA would've chosen more credible teams such as Lola (who already had a car), Prodrive, etc. I think if Branson never took over Manor, they would be in the same situation as Campos, and USF1.

I don't think you can blame the teams they asked for entry into F1 under a budget cap. now that cap has been removed, designing and building a car that would be anywhere near up to an existing teams level is a massive undertaking.

Indeed, it's totally the FiA's fault. They brought the teams in on an unrealistic premise and then changed the rules in the middle of the game. Effing Mosley.

USF1 announced their entry before the budget cap episode. They seemed to be happy to enter regardless of the cost cutting measures, which for me was always one of the reasons is was skeptical about them from the start. I thought if they were serious, the budget cap would be of utmost importance to them...

True, but I'd like to think that if the teams hadn't been vetted under the Budget Cap rules, then outfits which couldn't have survived without the Budget Cap would not have gotten through. It's painfully clear they were only ever intended as pawns (At least from the FiA's POV).

Seems more likely to be Campos and USF1 missing the cut. So far, its really unimpressive that they haven't even been able to "show" a car. Thinking about how little testing is to be done.... a team with a brand new car, with no testing... is pretty much destined to fail. Who would want to invest in such a venture??

Force India... they've had some good results and seriously, they look to have improved. Vijay has made some good moves and India is huge (so its a bit of a target market), i'm surprised they are in such a struggle but again, i think about 50% of the F1 teams are in some kind of economic struggle.

Well Force India's problem is the team has very little revenue (Majority of the "Sponsors" on the car are just Vijay's brands). The team is completely dependent on financial support from the parent company (Which is an organisation shrouded in considerable mystery) to survive as a going concern. To make matters worse, they've a habit of filing their accounts late which at the moment has them in a position where they have a bit more than 2 months left in existence.
