Not upset at all mate just giving back what I get :D but I knew you were messing with me so I messed back, can't let you think I'm slacking  .

Thank god you have no jurisdiction in Manchester. :hehe:

I'm actually a sweetheart :) .

Now concerning ones situation with the police 90% of it depends upon the actions or attitude of anyone that is pulled over. The other 10% is left open to the officers discretion yet if a blatant offense is made that disregards that persons personal safety ASWELL as the others around them then action must be taken.

Concerning DD's blatant disregard for safety and his own life I think he needs a good and sassy spanking :P and a possible CS :yikes::hehe: !!!

So I'm cruising along at 70 or so through Tuscaloosa, Ala. on my way to Mississippi. Get pulled over. The cop walks up to my car: Well Ma'am, do you know why I pulled you over? No idea.
You changed from the far left lane to the middle lane without proper signaling.
I was perplexed and told him that nobody where I come from gets pulled over for this, everybody does it. It makes sense to indicate when you change from the slower to the faster lane to warn that you might not be up to that speed yet. But changing from the fast passing lane to the slower one doesn't matter that much as you are faster anyway and don't interfere with the driver you just passed.
Turns out, they were running a sting operation he explained. They pulled officers from all over the state (he was from the border to Florida) and had cops riding along in 18-wheelers who then radioed in offenders. He admitted that they were pulling a lot of out-of-state drivers. No sh!t! How could we know that they're such sticklers? It's simply a massive money making scam - outrageous! I may pay online with credit card instead of appearing in court in March :irked: 152 bucks - fooking cucksockers! :ranting::-x:thumbdown:

Oh dear, it seems the British influence of needlessly raping motorists out of money is spreading like wildfire. Sorry to hear that one DD.:thumbdown::thumbdown:

Is this your second occurance in two weeks? It does not make me feel good about me. I got a ticket today. 43 in a 30, but I don't think I was going that fast. Never the less, I am not sure how much the ticket is yet. Most likely $250. Hopefully I can get differed adjudication so it does not show on my record.

It's mostly in the south - they're strapped for cash. No reason though to take it from out-of-state drivers, potential tourists that may not come back and spend money in their state.
I heard in Louisiana they're even worse: they arrest you under false drug charges, confiscate your possessions. Even if you're later released, they keep your stuff as evidence. You're on your way to or from somewhere, so don't stick around long. Sooner or later you abandon your stuff and the cops sell it for profit.

Yup, that's right. The first time a warning. This time the cop couldn't very well simply warn me with the sting operation and all, after all, he was pulling in money for the state.
This was my first moving ticket ever :banghead:

It is very simple to avoid speeding tickets either don't speed or use your cruise control set at the maximum allowable speed limit. Here is something we learned in our Trafiic course which everyone failed the first time.

Question: The fastest a motorist may drive on a highway in Texas is?

Answer: Whatever speed is reasonable and prudent for the current road conditions.

Now any reasonable person would be led to believe it would be the maximum allowable speed limit but no, yet if you really think about it it makes alot of sense. When we have inclimate weather here I switch into 4WD and drop my speed by 5-10mph but more depending on the conditions.

Concerning not using your turn signal 'because everybody does it' is not a viable excuse, you still broke the law, why do you think they put that little stalk on the steering column and those extra lights on the front and back of motor vehicles? I have always recieved ribbing from friends who would say 'Geez tex we are in the middle of nowhere or we are the only vehicle within miles so why are you signaling to change lanes?'. My reply was/is 'because it is the law'.

So the 'fooking cucksockers' remark is a sad way to look at it but frankly does not surprise me. Hopefully you will understand were I come from with the LEO opinion  .

Stay safe honey :D ,

Thats not a good answer, surly the fastest you can drive implies the maximum - ie in the best possible conditions you can do the speed limit. Thats the fastest you may drive - all things (ie road conditions considered).

I still take the point though.

Having 4WD is not the totall answer because I mentioned that I also decrease my mph.

The key words there are 'this documentary set in the 80s' because every two years the Texas Legislature meet and amend alot of the penal codes. Every US state has laws that are ancient yet if they have not been abolished or amended they stand as written.
