Does anyone here use an ebook reader? I personally prefer to read from actual books but I use my DS as a book reader a lot however it does hurt my eyes a bit. My mother has a Sony ebook reader and I much prefer the e-ink solution as it doesn't hurt my eyes, but the refresh time on the page irritates me after a while. Just interested to hear if anyone else uses some sort of ebook reader and what they think of it?

I did what a lot of people did, watched the movies, loved them, and then tried the books only to be completely disappointed. They're a bit long winded.

There are so many movies though that are totally different to the book. I recently read I Am Legend because of the film. I think I was having a blonde moment because I never associated the creatures in the film with vampires - for some reason, I had them down as some sort of zombie creature. And the entire book just seemed to be a totally different story to the film! I enjoyed both but was a bit at the end of the book

I've read ebooks (although not on an e-reader) and listened to audio books but neither works for me. I like to have a paper based book infront of me, I tend to always have one stashed away in my bag.

I always find films a let down if I have read the book

I could not read Lord of the Rings the random bursting into song annoyed me.

I hated The Hobbit and couldn't read the other books but the movies are awesome.

Have you read the Grapes of Wrath? That one is definitely worth a read. I keep meaning to buy East of Eden but never get round to it.

You know, actually I've never read Grapes of Wrath. I definitely should though because that is my mother's favorite book. I've never read East of Eden either, but I liked the movie with James Dean.

I have not read the Bourne books but I would hope that is clarified some of his thought processes

A lot of people I know said that the Hobbit was the best book to read.

I honestly can't remember the specific things that I hated about it because I read it a few years ago but I'm just not a big fan of the whole plot and I'm not into fantasy. Oddly enough, I love Harry Potter.

You should see the equipment manuals in work. The primary Radar we use has about 30 books all a few hundred pages each saying what it does down to component level. it makes me want to cry just thinking about them lol

Just finished 'The Rise of the Iron Moon' by Stephen Hunt. It was OK - I'd give it a 6/10. It read like a comic book and I'm not hugely keen on the silly names or mannerisms of some of the characters ('Dear mammal'). The whole trilogy was very hit 'n' miss for me. If you are really into steampunk, I guess you'd probably enjoy it but it was just too far-fetched and silly for my liking. The second book in the series, the Kingdom Beneath the Waves, was definitely the most enjoyable for me.
