Given how we've hijacked the other thread, thought it would be good to have a book thread. So...what are you currently reading?
I have just three books on the go at the moment:
The Rise of the Iron Moon by Stephen Hunt. I was bought this steam-punk trilogy for Christmas. Wasn't keen on the first one; the second one was much better written. The third has started quite well so we'll see how it goes.
The Confusion: The Baroque Cycle 2 by Neal Stephenson. I've had this for over a year. Loving the story but just can't read it in huge chunks, hence why it's taking so long to finish
The Templars: The Dramatic History of the Knights Templar, the Most Powerful Military Order of the Crusades by Piers Paul Read. Bought this because there are tonnes of references to the Knights Templar around where I live. I was also watching a program which theorised that Switzerland was actually formed by the Knights Templar thanks to it's banking history and flag. So far, this book has given me a massive history of religion (which I'm not keen on and have promptly forgotten) and has barely mentioned the Knights Templar
This year's New Years resolution is to stop reading so much junk and read more high-brow stuff - classics and non-fiction. So far not managing very well on this front
