If the points system was the same as last year's with the winner taking 10 points, I would say a big NO to this proposition.. but since the winner gets 25 points one point for pole and fastest lap wouldn't really upset the balance too much.. I can work with it.

I'm saying I like it becuase with a tight grid, pretty much the same fuel loads and tires its a sepcial skill and quality from the drivers that gets them pole - and I feel it should be rewarded in itself.

well lower forumla do have some better aspects than formula 1 so maybe that isn't a bad thing in itself.

i suppose lol but f1 is the jewel in the crown that is motorsport ......the best the top level , why take steps back .

Why is changing the points system taking a step back? I know it might be in common with lower formula but thats just a correlation, you could say that banning refueling or introducing slicks are steps back.

well concidering slicks were pritty much designed just for racing i cant really see that a step back tbh lol because with the current system you know where you are , and i dont really see the point in chnaging it

I think its more than that. They've made it worth overtaking to move from third to second or second to first, rather than sitting there thinking "oh I'll not bother risking it its only for two points"

Actually, no. It just looks that way. 2nd to 1st is still the same difference.

I realise that. However if you move up and take the five points you've more of a cushion to counteract a lower score or a DNF in another race.

I think people will like the new system alot more once the season starts and their favorite drivers gained that 1 or 2 extra points. I also agree with racechicks assessment;
