What exactly is your point bud?

Mine is towards the end of the season lewis did have a race winning car and credit to him for winning in it, but some of his mistakes earlier in the season should drop him down.

nah the reasons he made those mistakes is because he was pushing like mad.

rather than just giving up.

I remember he wanted to 'retire the car' (give up) at the Nurburgring... :hehe: Also other drivers can push like mad without making mistakes!

Like Vettel you mean? Rosberg? Alonso? Kimi? they all make mistakes. Lewis was pushing that McLaren well beyond its limits and getting it places it had no right to be. Thats not just me saying that its generally acknowledged. And when his car came closer to the RB's and the Brawn he was chalenging for wins despite still having a performance gap.

Like Button? All those guys you listed made fewer mistakes than Hamilton too! And like i said already, that McLaren was faster than the Brawn by the end of the season and outright fastest on some other circuits (ie Monza). Not trying to discredit anyone here, just put this list in some sort of perspective. How anyone can seriously, seriously think Hamilton was definitely the single driver who performed better than anyone else this season is utterly mind boggling. There's far too much evidence to the contrary.

Not just me that thinks so, the whole autosport team voted it.
Ok lets take Vettel out of those guys i listed. For much of the year he had the best car, he was not draging a dog round the track yet he still made mistakes at Australia,Monaco,Turkey and Hungary.
Button didnt make mistakes i grant that, but he underperformed in the second half of the season, had he not done that he'd have had the number 1 slot.

Ok, enough.
This kind of list is just stupid.
Everybody knows that Massa is the best ever. 8)

and that's the most unbiased post of the thread.

Ok, now you can continue the discussion about the second driver of the list.
Hamilton or Button?

As jensonb already said, button underperformed but still picked up the points. Hamilton crashed out.

Correct first half of the sentence (Button underperformed but picked up points-credit to him, he got the job done)
Hamilton crashed out???? WTF???

Monza, Monaco? All the drivers made mistakes, when button did so he generally picked up points (ie his poor qualifying preformances), at some crucial times hamilton crashed out.

Yep because he was over the limit trying to make up a deficit on a circuit where you be millimeter precise or just play safe. Button had a v good car.

yeah but that was diffrent the car was damaged, and i kinda get him there because the car was great in quali and he was cheering in the cockpit during practice because it was alot better

Then he got rammed by Webber and lost the chance for a win.
