He isnt a rookie and he dragged that McLaren back to the front of the grid :D Just thought I'd point that out.

Kobayashi in a McLaren.
If he got that - he would be well impressed with his first 2 races.
He would think they were very very special.

I just can't see McLaren taking a chance on Kobayashi when there are far less risky options available to them. They've already got their young protege, now they need a solid no. 2.

Oh yeah, I 100% agree there, just some people were mentioning it.

You've got a point though, those races would be incredibly special. One minute he can't even get a drive in GP2 and thinks he's on his way back to daddy's Sushi restaurant, the next thing he knows McLaren are knocking on his door (hypothetically speaking of course, because I can't see it happening). Bit like Button this year, one minute out of a seat completely and the next he's World Champion. The mind boggles.

Truthfully, Kobayashi isn't someone I'd want to risk in my favourite team but I wouldn't want my biggest rival to have him either, just in case he turns out to be as good as he's looked so far :scratchchin:

I'm still holding out for Kimi  And if that fails, Heidfeld I guess.

I guess

And I am also hoping for Kimi, just for the fact he is a racer and he'll be in a quality team

Yes. Everyone makes mistakes, especially when your trying to get 110% out of your car

Yeah Kimi, then Nick but i'd still have my 3rd choice as Kobi and i'd rather have Nick if Kimi is asking for a daft amount because he would be a solid number 2 whereas kimi and lewis might end up taking points of each other.

there's absolutely no chance at all of Kobayashi getting the McLaren drive. It's between Kovalainen, Raikkonen, Rosberg, Button and Heidfeld.

I'd hate for Rosberg to go, it would be bad for him. Button would be interesting but i think he'll stay put. I'd be amazed if Rosberg didn't got to Brawn.

Actually there is zero chance that Kobayashi will be in Macca next year. I even think there's a very very very slim chance for Heidfeld. I've never heard McLaren mentioning Nick in interviews. Seems like it's between Kimi and Kovy, if we think realistically
