i beginning to think renault will pull out too, and then theyre will be only a couple of teams left to support, which im not really tied to, that and all the races going to the far east on boring tracks, more and more im wondering how long im gonna be watching f1, i hope renault can stay one more season so i can get to see them at a venue at least once,

I am not going to really miss Toyota, they never seemed to have a clue what they were doing, especially when they paid over the odds for Ralf. I certainly won't miss that boring livery of theirs either.

But all the same, if a buyer was found to take over the team entity that wouldn't be bad, because Toyota had some excellent equipment and could actually make a good car, perhaps a new owner who knows what he's doing might be able to pull off a Brawn and show Toyota what they and their boardroom staff have been doing wrong all these years.

I think this will depend on Renault's future after todays' announcement about their problems.

thats a good point. What about the Concorde agreement? Surely they were tied in. You just know that the FIA/FOM will take them to the cleaners if its illegal!

They will probably have to pay out for a penalty clause.

[Edit] looks like the big issue here is that they want to know how Toyota plans to do their withdrawal if they are going to sell the team on along with the Concorde agreement then Sauber still have no place.

Ferrari blaming the FIA; I've never heard such nonsense! When are Ferrari not throwing mud at the FIA?

I think Toyota posting the biggest loss in company history may have something to do with it!

Yeah, but he wasn't anything special in GP2.

It is not good news at all for the F1 that Toyota is leaving.
Although during the years they didn't have to much success, Toyota along with Bmw and Honda made the F1 A much more attractive and prestige brand.
I also think that the departure of these 3 teams will in A way empower Ferrari and McLaren- Mercedes inside the F1.

Losing Honda and BMW is more galling than losing Toyota imo. They have contributed nothing positive to the sport and have wasted lots of money. BMW and Honda are proper car companies founded by an individual or group who had specific and unique ideas about how a car/bike should be and it shows in their products. Toyota cars are a commercial extension of Toyota industries and were set up to make money by selling cars, not to make a statement about how the ideal car should be. This is why their products are mediocre and why they have shown a consistent inability to innovate throughout their entire car-making history. Honda and BMW in one form or another have been successfully competing in top level motorsport from a very early point in each of the companies histories. The same is true of Renault and Mercedes, the other two manufacturer entities in F1. Except for brief forays in to WRC and Sportscars (both with some success), Toyota have little in the way of motorsport pedigree, certainly not when compared to all the other manufacturers represented in F1 in 2008.
