I just hope Sauber can now take their place. Toyota, BMW, Honda are all examples of how an F1 team should not be managed!

The sole problem with BMW was their lack of persistence. They did a great job and achieved their goals in every season but 2009, improving year after year. One year things did not go so well, and they quit. In the end, they obviously didn't care much about F1... :(

Indeed. Toyota on the other hand were simply hopeless, apparently completely unaware of how to run an F1 Team.

The reason why I say those 3 teams is because BMW ran away after one slightly difficult season, Toyota just didn't know how to run an F1 team or how to win a race which they should of done at Bahrain, Honda did a knee jerk reaction and pulled out even knowing that they probably had a decent car. This was all because the very top decisions were made by board directors in Tokyo or some other random place the sort of people who don't go to any races or give a crap about the sport.

Yes, exactly. That kind of corporate mentality simply does not work in F1.

goes back to what i said earlier that they do not exist for F1, so a big ? will always exist on such teams. Renault is prime example, while Mercedes not being a 100% constructor is still not a certainty either.

thoughts on anyone picking up Panasonic sponsorship? I hear Renault needs a title sponsor.... might not be too stupid for Panasonic with Renaults links to Nissan in Japan.

We only have 4 engine suppliers now. Next year's grid looks to be a weird one.

One question, did Toyota not sign an agreement during the whole break-away saga saying they will compete until 2012? How are they getting out of that one. I mean, BMW left early just so they could avoid that agreement.

I'm guessing they'll still pay the entry fee for a season, each season until 2012... if teams actually do that. :scratchchin:

They could try and do a Honda/Brawn thing and thus avoid a substantial penalty due to breach of contract (that's what I'd think it is). At any rate, BE will see to it that it'll be costly for Toyota.

Sad news, but not really that surprising. The world of motoring is changing for a variety of reasons, both economic and environmental.
F1 will have to change too if its to continue to be relevant.

And now we hear Renault are thinking of dropping out as well. Oh it just gets better and better.
