Nah that will not happen because I could not remember the change .

I went and test drove the Evo and it was an absolute blast but has a few minor issue's but nothing unsurmountable. The clutch is an on/off switch which I'm all to familiar with but other than that the car rocks!. Boost is basically instantaneous, the handling and grip are fantastic and the driver's view is just as good as my old MR2's in the sense that the nose just fall's off and road view obstruction is non-existant.

Apparently the previous owner had bad taste in rim's but good taste in other cosmetic area's, see pic's. The interior is in great condition aswell but now the real battle start's and that is talking with my bank . Sorry for the crappy cellphone pic's but hope yall enjoy them anyway .

Very nice - I love the look of Evos.

Talking of test drives, I took a Ferrari 599 out for a spin yesterday. Very refined but definitely not for me. It's an incredibly 'lazy' car in that no matter what speed you are doing, you can shove it into 5th and trundle along - at either 20mph or 120mph!So you can be really lazy in the way you drive.

It's way too quiet in the cabin for my liking although the engine noise outside is most definitely addictive! I think it's also a license loser for me - I love my Lotus because there's always the feeling of speed. In the Ferrari, everyone was driving really slowly down the dual carriage way....or at least I thought they were - looked down at the dash thinking I was doing about 50 to find I was actually doing 85

I drove one with the flappy paddle gear box and was really surprised by the responsiveness of it, particularly given I was driving in wuss mode which apparently has slower gear changes.

If it was cheaper, I think I would seriously consider it as it is a beautiful car - both to look at and the interior (the child in me LOVES the start button!) - but if I get another car, it still has to be a driver's car rather than something quite so detached.

Would you not consider something like a 456? Not quite so refined (i can tell you that from experience...!!) and definitely available at a 'reasonable' price - i know someone who owns one, apparently worth ~40k with about 50k on the clock. This chap runs it almost day to day as well, with no reliability problems.

Not my cup of tea really Also, I'd want the F1 box (or whatever it's officially called). I did try an older car with the F1 box and it really wasn't as good - the gear changes are really slow in comparison and there's definitely a bit of 'head banging' about the change. I did enjoy the drive but I do really want something I *have* to drive properly. Also, a lot of slightly older Ferrari's seem to have awful servicing intervals and that's really off putting.

Get a suit on, ask a mate with a pretty nice car to give you a lift down (but make out it's your car) and i'm sure you could blag it...

I have just sold my evo after 6 years of ownership, the clutchs are like that because the standard clutch is specced to last a whole 12 launches. there is also a collar on the thrust bearing that stops the clutch fully engaging so that it will blow the clutch and not the gear box. (first sign of clutch wear is between 4-5k rpm on full boost in 3rd.) You might have to be on a private race track for that to happen mind I personally prefered the double plated co-ord sport clutch, they are 1k for the housing etc but that is a one time buy after that the cluches where about £200. they also like to warp the flywheel as well if a clutch is left worn.

oh and a thrust bearing from mitsi/ralliart is about 3 times the price of one for a Suzuki Baleno and it is exatally the same part.

I was in jeans and trainers TBH I think a lot of Ferrari dealers are tw*ts though. This is the third time I've been in (once was a different dealership) and this is the only time they've treated me with any courtesy. I'm normally ignored and given looks like I'm a piece of chewing gum on the bottom of their shoe. I suspect it is because I look about 15, but even so, their previous attitudes have really tarnished the brand for me.

Not blagging - I'm genuinely in the market for getting another car but the Ferrari's were too 'meh' for me (as well as stretching my budget a little ). I was going down to London to see something uber-cool this morning but they sold it before I managed to get to the dealership so I'm still on the hunt. I'm 99% sure I know what I want now...just a matter of finding one for sale! (not going to post what it is as I'm a) likely to change my mind and b) don't want to jinx my search!)

I feel a bit at the moment. Drove 150 miles to see another car only to find it had been sold already. The only saving grace was that the dealer tried to turn the engine over only to find the car had a "flat battery". It most definitely was NOT a flat battery - there was plenty of electrical juice; the noise the car made sounded like the engine trying to eat itself. I'm hoping it had just run out of fuel. Considering the car had less than 1,000 miles on the clock, I hope they haven't damaged it in any way.

My mate has an old Saab 900 Turbo and we were caning it round today, pretty quickly... epic car, i want one now!

How old do cars have to be before they are classed as classics (for insurance purposes that is)? It's 20 years old right?
