Today MP4-24 showed just how bad it is in the wet! HK proved he can match Lewis for pace in quali. Rubens once again proves why he deserves a seat in a F1 car next year! Maybe Rubens can win tomorrow and take the championship down to the wire.

Unfortunantely this skill disappears during the race.

I stopped watching when it moved to BBC2 and missed Q2 and Q3 - what on earth happened? Button got outqualified by all the rookies! I'm pretty depressed tbh... :crying:

Nothing much. It stopped. It was a lottery.

Car weights are out. Rubens is a little light, lighter than I had thought he would be, but it isn't too bad. As long as he beats Webber off the line he should be okay, because as we've seen previously the Red Bull car is pretty bad in the dirty air.

Pos Driver Weight (kg)
1. Barrichello Brawn-Mercedes 650.5
2. Webber Red Bull-Renault 656.0
3. Sutil Force India-Mercedes 656.5
4. Trulli Toyota 658.5
5. Raikkonen Ferrari 651.5
6. Buemi Toro Rosso-Ferrari 659.0
7. Rosberg Williams-Toyota 657.0
8. Kubica BMW-Sauber 656.0
9. Nakajima Williams-Toyota 664.0
10. Alonso Renault 652.0
11. Kobayashi Toyota 671.5*
12. Alguersuari Toro Rosso-Ferrari 671.5*
13. Grosjean Renault 677.2*
14. Button Brawn-Mercedes 672.0*
15. Liuzzi Force India-Mercedes 680.0*
16. Vettel Red Bull-Renault 683.5*
17. Kovalainen McLaren-Mercedes 656.5*
18. Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes 661.0*
19. Heidfeld BMW-Sauber 650.5*
20. Fisichella Ferrari 683.5*

I think any of the top three could win, maybe through Trulli and Raikkonen in to the mix, too. Should be a very interesting race tomorrow. Not sure on Button's fuel-load. If he gets stuck behind Grosjean and/or Alguersuari, he might not make much of an impact. He also has to watch out for the lighter, KERS-equipped McLarens behind him.

All in all, I'm quite excited for tomorrow :D

Thanks Denthúl .

Because I'm useless at trying to understand the weights:

The fuel-adjusted top 10, with predicted first pit stop laps, looks like this:

1 Mark Webber (lap 22)
2 Rubens Barrichello +0.056secs (lap 20)
3 Adrian Sutil +0.231 (lap 23)
4 Jarno Trulli +0.361 (lap 24)
5 Sebastien Buemi +0.501 (lap 24)
6 Kimi Raikkonen +0.622 (lap 20)
7 Nico Rosberg +0.631 (lap 23)
8 Kazuki Nakajima +0.790 (lap 26)
9 Robert Kubica +0.963 (lap 22)
10 Fernando Alonso +1.862 (lap 20)

Thanks for posting that :)

I'm really hoping that two laps extra isn't enough for Webber to jump Barrichello tomorrow. My ideal result would, naturally, be for Rubens to take a whole ten points out of Jenson to make it easier on himself in Abu Dhabi. Quite impressed by Buemi's pace this weekend and it is good to see that, fuel-corrected, he's genuinely fast. :)

The MP4-24 didn't land a couple spots at the rear of the grid for being so bad in the wet but because McLaren set it up for dry weather racing in anticipation of a dry race on Sunday.

As for Heikki matching Lewis in qualifying, he only did so because they both went out into wet weather with a dry configuration and consequently landed adjacent spots at the rear of the grid. Had they been able to qualify in conditions their cars were set up for, I have little doubt that Lewis would have outqualified the crap out of Heikki.

I'd say podium will be Rubens, Webber/Sutil and Kimi. A bit boring prediction, but that assumes nothing special happens like heavy rain. I don't really trust the toyota performing well during the race and well Sutil and Webber, only one will finish well other one will screw up something. So all my money on Rubens to win.
