He's got two world championships to Massa's zero...

But to get number one status he has to go faster during the year in question! Ferrari need the fastest driver as number one, not one with past championships, otherwise they might as well reinstate jackie Stewart cos he's got three!!

Somehow i think Ferrari won't subscribe to that one straight away.

Jackie would probably think he's doing those "car tests" he did about 20 years ago when he got to go behind the wheel of various F1 cars, Sportscars and the 1988 Indy 500 winning Penske.

back on topic though i agree with racechick, ivey,Chris,longbow (b4 his transformation),bud and other pro-hammie fans i failed to mention that hamilton will run rings around kimi and that kimi will not try to win races cos he only happy to collect his paycheq. ( no mention was made that mclaren wants to take kimi on only if ferrari pays his salary for next year - dont get what kind a crap that is. ) and that kimi will accept that once at mclaren he may only finish behind lewis and assist to get mclaren the WCC.
Lewis is the greatest and hamilton all the way and all that jazz.

If Ferrari and McLaren came up with completely equal cars next year, I would predict that Ferrari would get the WDC because Kimi and Lewis will take too many points off each other and Alonso will comfortably beat Massa over a full season.

It's hard to call what will happen in terms of next year's cars though. Ferrari announced that they started work on theirs before McLaren and Alonso's development input will be better than Lewis's or Kimi's I would imagine although i don't really know if it would be by enough to make any real difference. McLaren could easily find themselves in a situation like the one in 2006 where both drivers are fast but want different things from the car in terms of setup and this can lead to problems with development direction. I don't see Ferrari having this problem with Alonso as he will dictate development direction to the extent that he is permitted.

dunno Gilles, I think ferrari and mclaren will remain the two main contenders in 2010 as well. I am hoping redbull and brawn close behind.
what i really do hope for is that mclaren completely disappear from the first 4 places. thats my wish for 2010. dont mean it will be so.
I do hope kimi go to mclaren cos i am certain the silent assasin will screw lewis over. I do think mclaren knows this and will think ten times before taking him in and then there the cost issue. Kimi expects to be paid probably lot more than they paid heiki and dont want the fact that ferrari's paycheq for 2010 to have anything to do with it. I like his way of thinking. he's his own boss and makes no attempt to hide it.

I imagine that Kimi want's paying more than Lewis is getting, Kimi is on a LOT more than Lewis atm. McLaren and Ferrari are safe bets for being near the front next year I think. i think a lot could depend on what happens with Mercedes and whether KERS is used by the FOTA teams or not.

with Kimi you will never be able to tell. He gets in the car and does what is needed to get the job done. if it looks like he wants to smile,he's excited.
hamilton with kimi as his partner ?? I pray kimi's darkside comes to the fore and really do so payback...
Massa I think now has something to prove and i see him getting more frustrated as the season progresses and if he not delivering and with the added pressure of Alonso as his teammate massa may lose sight of the crosshair and get as stupid as hamilton gets when he under pressure. I surely hope not.
To answer your Q :: Kimi dont need motivation - He starting 2010 with a point or two to prove and believe me he is going to make his presence known

Anna .. please.. just drop this hammie is better than thou attitude, I beg you. Ten years from now he will still walk around with the label he's woven for himself and I for one will never even give him a chance even if he may deserve it... he's very low as far as i am concerned.
