Would like to see usf1 on the grid, after all a team is a team.

They're a new team, no one is going to expect them to be anything but backmarkers, don't let fear of being burnt prevent you from giving it a shot.

Better to take part and fail, than to no take part at all?

I reckon Ecclestone is making up :bs:

Peter Windson said on ONE HD a few minutes ago that Sauber are looking like they'll have an entry on the grid bringing it to 14 teams. And he joked that USGP might have to start on the grass with such a large grid. If USGP weren't going to be ready he would have left a few hints

Ah Bernie and his senile comments... gotta love 'em!

I would think that of all the new teams, USF1 would be the first team to arrive on the grid next year. Whether they'll be fast out of the box is anyone's guess but I would think they will struggle like all the new outfits next season. I think that it'll be funny if F1 finds itself with 9 teams after all the fanfare about the 13/14 teams on the grid next year, assuming that Toyota or Renault pull out next year as rumoured!

So whay is F1 seen as the pinnacle of motorsport in just about every country on earth apart from America?

That is a question that should be asked to those who virtually control all US motorports. You can also look at it this way, why can't we american's get a F1 race when all the major team's and manufacturer's deem the US as their biggest market???

I expect to see USGP on the grid next season and if they are not I will blame BE.

And let's not forget there are quite a number of US companies that produce parts or materials for F1!

I have doubts too. In fact, I hope they dont make the grid next year.

Why do you say that ? This question is coming from someone that knows nothing at all about them :hehe:

As an American race fan, we have to deal with the stereotype that we know nothing about racing and that we only turn left. I for one, am not looking forward to seeing a team hang out at the back of the grid waving the American flag. It will only further embarrass us American F1 fans.

I would have to agree with you. Whenever I bring up Formula 1 around my friends they think its some kind of NASCAR, I immediately blow up at them for such an insult :banghead:

But I think if they don't come through for next year the grid will be more manageable now with the addition of Lotus to the lineup. Too many cars makes for a real mess at the start.

Well I just hate the stereotype, I try my best not to hate on nascar because people are free to like whatever they want.

Anyways welcome to the forum fellow American :wavey: Are you a Kimi fan? I am. :D

I would agree with you but I know a lot people who think that all racing is the similar to nascar. But yes I am def a Kimi fan. I love his style and most of all his attitude haha :D

As someone who raced extensively while in the USA (NASCAR and NHRA) I never felt that the Americans have the slightest clue how to set up racing cars unless they are going around in a circle.
If they do enter with a team, it will be worse than Forte ever was!

I'm not too fussed if USF1 doesn't come to fuition, I don't think the US deserves an F1 team!

Haha
I am interested in the line up

Hmm, not fussed myself really i'd rather sauber than a US national team.

The americans would be rubish anyway it would get confused by right hand bends, chicanes etc..
