Yesterday I saw some guy (probably one of those bankers) driving a amazing-looking MG convertible in British Racing Green, with the top down. I was standing waiting for the 88 bus - I tell you it was all I could do to stop myself running across the road, dragging the suit from the car and stealing it...

But then you remembered you were a cockney and not a scouser or from the "north" and continued reading the metro while avoiding making eye contact with the person next to you :P

Not the Metro, everyone was reading the last edition of the London Paper. Get it right

I know they're $hit, but it doesn't stop me liking them.

Heart says MG.
Heart and head with unlimited money says Z3.
Head says another Ford Ka. :D

Head says use the f***ing bus.

Well, I'd have to if I ever bought an MG!

:hehe:

What you need to do is get back, get back, get back to where you once belonged.

I'm trying to persuade my mum to get rid of hers. But she wants another one anyway too.

What do people like about them??

They're enormously fun to drive - they turn on a dime. I used to drive mine like a maniac, but despite regularly putting the back end out going round corners I never managed to kill myself. I did terrify lots of friends and family though...

They're very convenient - easy to park - fit 4 adults reasonably confortably.

And, I dunno, I think they're kinda cute (old design - not the new one :hurl: )

That doesn't get my hopes up for other cars :(

In fairness, most small cars are ugly and the Ka's no better or worse off than most in its class.

Oh, I controlled it, I think my nearest and dearest thought I should slow down a bit and avoid it altogether! :P

I would love to buy a Lotus exige or a Tesla motor if you know what a Tesla is :D:D

The Tesla is a nice idea but impractical if you want to go any distance, you'd be better with a hybrid, the Exige on the other hand, very nice bit of kit...

Ahh, two people with impeccable taste :hehe:

I don't like the new styling on the Exige though. I liked it in the pictures, went down to my local dealer and saw it in the flesh and thought it was really rubbish.

The S1 is growing on me - my local dealer have a stunning late-S1 in, however it doesn't have a boot. Or rather it does if you don't mind your shopping rubbing against the engine  I find the S1s a lot more uncomfortable too. Think I'll stick with my lard-arse car ;)

Its not that impractical. It will do 250 mile on a full charge. Who does 250 miles in a day everyday? I do that a week so charging the car once a week is prity good. esp when it costs just 3p a mile

The Tesla is rediculous imo, $109K for a base model and $129K for the sport edition :yikes::rolleyes: , now that is a :censored: joke!!
I could buy a MKI MR2 for less than $3K, even less  , then drop another $3-5K into the car and fawk that Tesla up :wavey: .

Can we get back to discussing REAL cars now?
