The piquet name has not been steeped in honour lately, to say the very least.

Piquet will struggle to ever get sponsors again. Two giants in F1 have now gone, Symonds and Briatore. Renault have lost their two most valued members, and F1's reputation has yet again take a hit.

Yes, I'll go with that too. What happens behind the scenes would not come out if all the participants where gentlemen. Piquets obviously have no honor code, if you agree to cheat, that's low enough, but come back after year to disgrace everyone that is a disgrace and not good to anyone.

I really can't think of anything about him that would be considered a recommendation for a seat in F1. His pace was dreadful. He crashed, a lot. He willingly crashed in a race, endangering people, so that he could keep his seat. He came clean only so that he could backstab Flavio, his boss. Piquet's untrustworthy, dangerous and clearly lacking a moral compass, there's no way that I'd have him on my team. Quite frankly, I'd pick Badoer over Piquet so I'm sure I could round up 28 acceptable drivers without having to resort to him.

I'm judging Piquet by his actions and nobody elses. He did not have to deliberately crash, it was a choice and a dangerous one at that.

Well Renault have gone to the police both in France and the UK and told them that Piquet blackmailed Renault and that Piquet threatened to reveal the information about Renault and the singapore crash if they sacked him. If Piquet actually did say that then he has committed blackmail.
